Have to replace my tires, and have also decided to get rid of the stock wheels that came with my 2023 4Runner TRD Off Road. Order a set of Nomad 505SB in Satin Black - which was the easy part.

Now for the straight question needing a straight answer:

Without lifting or leveling my 4Runner, will a set of 275/70R17 tires rub or fail to fit? I ordered a set of BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 in the size mentioned.

Personally, I want to lift my 4Runner, but right now it's on a lease and even though I intend to keep this beauty, who knows in the next 2 years what I will ultimately decide (still making other modifications, just nothing so drastic as a lift). Nonetheless, I want a more rugged look and even though 275's are not much bigger than the stock 265's, TireRack refused to ship them until I called and told them I purposefully ordered a bigger tire.

I am just trying to figure out what I am getting into and whether I need to at least have a leveling kit put on, or if I can keep the truck on a stock lift for the time being.

The chart says they will fit. I'm not sure about accuracy for specific tires.

    What’s the wheel offset?
    Then, will it fit.

    stock is 31.6" tall
    new are 32.2" tall

That means the tire is going to be 0.3" taller or closer to the fender which is not anything in the world to worry about, not even close.
    BUT
What offset is your wheel, that will ultimately put a hamper on things, if you have a wheel that sits way out, its going to then push the tire further outward in its arch as you turn which could potentially hit the fenders. If your wheel is close to the stock width and offset you wont have any problems.

Offset is 0. Nomad made it clear when ordering the wheels that an offset of -10 would not work with a stock lift.

Tires have a width of 11", with a tread width of 8.8", and a diameter of 32.2". So, just slightly larger than the "green" 275/70R17 size shown in the diagram above, but still not anywhere near the size marked as "yellow". So given this diagram and the information on the tire, I should be fine.

Now just have to see if anyone wants to buy a set of used Toyota wheels.

Hang on to the stock wheels. You said it's a lease, if for whatever reason you decide you're not going to keep it, throw the stock wheels back on it and keep the Methods for your next vehicle, or sell them later.

If thats a 17x8 - 0 offset you are going to push the inner lip of the wheel outward 9mm (0.355") and the outer lip outward 21mm (0.8295")
This is certainly going to change what the tires arch will be when turning full lock and could potentially make you rub on the inner fenders and wheel wells at the mud flaps.

    The 265/70/17 is 31.6 x 10.4
    The 275/70/17 is 32.2 x 10.8

The tire diameter and width are nearly negligible, the wheel offset is the only real questionable issue.

You will rub with that offset.

Stock Pro's rub with an offset of +4 on stock sized 265's.

You would not rub with the stock OR wheels at +15 offset and a 275 tire though.

If you want to keep the wheels, they will work if you do the fender liner mod. This is what the port does to get the +4 offset Pro wheels to work. But I can understand not wanting to do that if it's a lease. On the other hand, if you do it cleanly, no one would even know it's been done.

As you have found out, there is never one definitive answer in regards to wheels and tires. Too many variables.

There seems to be more tire rubbing issues with aftermarket rims than OEM. As others said, it’s probably the wheel offset thing. I used to run 285’s on OEM Pro rims and no rubbing anywhere.

As you may have surmised from the answers above, levelling or lifting is not the determining factor on whether the 275 tires will fit, but the wheel offset. That size tire should fit a stock suspension with appropriate wheel width and offset.

I had 275/70/17 KO2s on stock black pro wheels. I only had rub at full lock.

Welcome from Wisconsin! From new, we put 275-70-17's on the stock factory OR wheels and they did no rub. Now we have 8.5" aftermarket rims, 0 offset and they don't rub. Stay away from big offsets and you should be fine.

I went with no offset - Nomad makes you select whether your vehicle is lifted or stock, and if stock they do not offer the offset wheel as an option (doesn't mean you cannot buy it, but they expressly state not to purchase the offset wheel).

I appreciate the input. And enjoy the winter months with your 4Runner. Mine will likely never see snow...and is a bit jealous...but mine gets to go to swamps and beaches that many other 4Runners do not get the chance to drive through.

Sounds like Nomad doesn't know much about Toyotas. A suspension lift doesn't add clearance on these, unless you limit up-travel somehow. Check out the video posted above for some good information.
