Was working on some CAD skills and thought I would model up some replacement cup holder inserts for the 5th gen. I saw that some of the replacements on sale were just 3d printed. Selling FDM 3d printed parts seems like a crime when they are so accessible these days.

I did carbon fiber PETG for mine. Turned out nice! I'll post some photos soon.

Are these to replace the OEM rubber ones that stay attached to the bottom of your cup/bottle when you go to take them out?

And these don't? Stick to the cup, that is.

That’s the idea. PETG is not sticky like the rubber inserts. I modeled the rear cup insert to be a little bigger internally than stock. If you jam an oversized cup in it, that might stick.

A 20oz Yeti Tumbler does not fit all the way into the front holder. I would say there is about 3/4" from the bottom of the Yeti to the floor of the holder.
The rear holder fits the 20oz Yeti fine - maybe 2mm of space around the sides?

I kept the front the same size as the stock insert. Seemed better for cans / small stuff storage. I almost never put tall vessels in the front as it feels too close to the console.
