I am restoring an 85 4x4. Currently, I am reassembling the front axle so the knuckles and bearings and seals (new seals) etc.

I'm having an issue at the knuckles, with correctly installing the shims. my Karsons hub kit box only has six shims in it.

I heard that I need the same amount of shims top and bottom ex. 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. Did I hear wrong? or did I lose a packet of shims?

seems to me like it would make sense to send me 2 packs containing 6 shims each. Or do I not need the same amount of shims on the top as I do the bottom?

If I install two shims on the top and two on the bottom on the passenger side, that leaves only two left total for the driver side hub. Right now I have two shims on the top and one on the bottom, but I need to install another one on the bottom to tighten the nuts down.
