Recently purchased this hog and she's mint. About a week ago I had a steering issue come up where, when turning left or right the steering binds up for about a quarter turn then loosens up and tight back and forth. Happened for a week then stopped and has started to happen again. I hit it with some pb blaster on the steering column joints to no avail. Power steering pump is fine no leaks in the reservoir. Any help is appreciated tyia

Make sure it's using the proper power steering fluid for the system, which is ATF. Same stuff that goes in your transmission. Valvoline MaxLife ATF is good stuff and works fine in the 4runner's power steering and transmission. It's probably a good idea to do a fluid swap on the system at this point anyhow. I'd start with using some Seafoam Trans Tune, safe for power steering, and run that for a little while before doing the fluid change. That should loosen/break up/dissolve and blockages in the power steering, which is likely what you have. Randomly sticking valves in the steering rack can exhibit the issues you are seeing.

If that doesn't do it, you are looking at potentially a new steering rack or you have a problem elsewhere, like worn ball joints and tie rod ends.
