I currently own a 2020 4runner SR5 4wd. I bought these 106mm to 95mm adapaters/1.5in spacers to go on my 4runner but noticed the OEM wheels studs are a little short for me to get the open ended lug nut on all the way. Does anyone know a good extended wheel stud i should buy to make this work?

What kind of spacers are they?

I didn't have this problem with 1.25" Spidertrax or 1.5" Trail Gears.

They are from a website called spacers experts. They are meant to be a spacer and change the hub bore size at the same time. They are comparable to spidertrax

Sounds a little shady to me.

Is there a reason to change the hub bore size?

With a 1.5" spacer, there should be plenty of room to bore enough space for the open ended nuts to thread on the entire stud. Something seems weird with that design.

This is what im trying to do. I got 12 full turns on the open ended lug nuts and had a 5 threads left with the spacer. It fits just right but im thinking I might need extended wheel studs. What do you all think?

Edit: I also took off these and put the originals back on.

Too many to list & Worth every penny!
IIRC, once the nut is screwed onto the stud and is equal to the diameter of the stud, you will not get any more holding power between the stud and nut even with more engagement.
Sounds like that was achieved with 12 full turns.
Check the data, I think I’m correct.
    But I’d call the company.

Yeah that's what I thought. I got 7/8in of the open ended lug nut on there. All I needed to do was get to the .47in mark so im near double that technically. I also asked chat gpt and it said the same thing lol

Do you have a photo of one of the lug nuts holding the spacer, not installed? I'm just curious, as most using spacers have issues with the oem studs being too long, not too short. I'm also curious why the hub bore needs to be adapted...

The hub bore size has to be changed due to the wheels I bought being off the new Tacoma. Also I get nearly 11 to 12 full turns on the threads but it seems the open ended lug nut I got is too long for the wheel stud. But that shouldn't matter because I have enough thred compared to the diameter of the stud

I would still check and re-torque after about 50-100 miles and seriously consider using some red lock-tite on the wheel studs. In fact, Spidertrax spacers come with a small tube of it and are very clear about using it on install.

The company sells extended thread open ended conical lugnuts e.g. https://spacerexperts.com/products/...toyota-trucks-and-cars?variant=37807205351603

It isn't clear from the spacer listing if these were already included with the spacer. If you aren't already running these, they provide additional thread engagement.

Just put blue loctite on it. You'll be fine.

Well maybe. I only ever bought spidertrax and bora spacers. I do like the idea of the 2024 tacoma/2025 4runner wheels on a 5th Gen.

Fyi I think you can get hub Centric rings to adapt to hub bore size.

Most spacers recommend red loctite. Why not red?

Red means stop and think before you put it on, you’ll need heat to remove. I’d be more concerned about temp resistance than strength. Loctite 2422 is a unique product, designed for hot applications. Would be my choice, YMMV.

That explains the twelve turns. At 1.5mm thread pitch, that's 18mm of thread engagement. You're good as-is. No Loctite or long studs necessary.

I've had red loctite on my spacers for years.

I've also replaced the brakes twice.

No issues breaking the bolts free. I also don't soak them in loctite.......just a tiny, thin layer.

Spidertrax recommends (and comes with) red loctite for installation.

Seems like a lot of effort just to stick the tires out a bit?

^6th gen wheels need spacers, or tires hit the UCA. Since when was wheel spacers considered a lot of effort?

So it actually doesn't really make the tires stick out much at all due to the offset of the wheels themselves.

If you are scared about red thread locker, go get Permatex Orange. It has similar “strength” as red but doesn’t need heat for removal.

Nobody is using red loctite on the wheel studs. Red loctite is used on the spacer studs which used to be the old wheel studs. Most people aren't diligent enough in their maintenance practices to check the spacer studs for proper torque periodically. Hence the red loctite as somewhat of a failsafe. This is one of the things about spacers. They need to be checked at every 5000 mile tire rotation for correct torque, red loctite or not.

I use blue loctite and torque correctly. I go to 100lb/ft on spacers and 90lb/ft on wheels. Hasn't let me down using spidertrax 1.25"
