Ok smart people. Actually have a question ( and yes i know I'm usually the stupid smart ass, so feel free to reciprocate).

My 2018 SR5P has the physical GKey. And the issue is I'm having is that the keyless entry assembly no longer worky. No light blinky. And no unlock or lock remotely.

    - multiple new 2016 batteries
    - the physical key locks and unlocks all doors just fine
    - husband's key works perfectly. Which i stole and now using as my main key.
    - transponder is working just fine cuz big red starts and drives with the non working key just fine
    - tried putting in learning mode with the key and door sequence with no luck. But i could've done it wrong.

So through my research here and the webz, i have come to the conclusion that after 2016 (2017+) you can no longer buy just a keyless fob, put in program mode, and hold the unlock /lock buttons to program just the keyless entry part.

The question is.......it's my only option to buy a brand new Gkey and program through techstream or Tom's keys, etc?
OR can i just buy an unused key and harvest the keyless entry part for my 2018?

PS. I have AJT key fob cases so I've already buggered up my original key fobs. So easy to replace just the one part.

Decided since it wasnt working to pull it apart and check out the board. Found solder points corroded and one gone. So broke out the flux and solder and redid the solders and seems to be working now.

I wear my keys on a caribener on my belt. So maybe wet too many times in the rain or something.
Not my pic, but just showing where i found the issue.
