I’ve been wondering the same thing. My rig has the blacked out appearance so I’m gonna stick with the KO2s (Blackwall). But I have totally wondered what would it look like with the raised white letters out. I saw a pic of the inferno with white letters and it wasn’t for me. I asked my Michelin / BFG guy why Tire Rack sells the KO2s as blackwall and white letter separate, and he said some tires will come raised black lettering on both sides. If that’s the case w/ KO2s you kinda have to make up your mind before you buy. (And I’m going w/ C Load rating vs E, I don’t do that much off-roading I want a softer sidewall for comfort)

A little sneak peak i put one against my SO and they are going to pop. FN wheels thank to Dustin!! Nice concave on them. A lot more than the factory wheel. Wanted to keep it looking more like a Pro and at night I think they will stand out more in the dark and still look like a black wheel. IMG_4580.jpg

Probably wider than OE too. I know my Replika TRD wheels were 1 inch wider.

Yes they are. 8 inch which I want it will give it a more aggressive stance. And they are more concaved.

I’d bet slightly lower offset too, which will push out the wheels just a bit and look even better.

I’m generally an OEM wheel guy, even with upgraded sets, but one discussion on the phone with these guys and I was sold on my Spec Bs. They put a good amount of thought into each decision for each wheel for this platform and the product seems solid.

    That was my question also…

Is that the dark gloss gunmetal gray or the blue?

Yes very light wheel like HuskyMike mentioned. Yes they are dark gloss gunmetal. That was the last set in stock. I love the color in person.

Definitely post a pic as soon as you get them mounted.

Did you happen to talk to the guys at FN wheels? Curious as to whether the finish on their matte gray wheel is pretty close to the factory Toyota TRD gunmetal version?

What are your thoughts on the center caps? Are you planning to use the ones that came with the new wheels, the factory black ones, or order the factory TRD gunmetal gray caps?

    I will post pics definitely!
Yes I texted and talked to Dustin thru the whole process. He even remembers me a few years back I was going to get a set but chose the SCS wheels and he really appreciated it I went with his wheels this time. He is a great guy to deal with and the wheels are top notch. You can tell they sell them a lot because of running out of them pretty quick. I have his number if you want to text him.

I’m running the center caps that came with them. I like they are 8 inch wheel.

Not sure how long it will be before you get your tires mounted… Any chance at all that you could mockup a pic with the new FN wheel sitting on a 4x4” block (or something similar) sitting adjacent to the factory black wheel and then take a picture directly from the side so that it looks as if you actually have the FN wheel mounted?

Still trying to decide if I like the gloss or the matte gunmetal better…

Basically a photo set-up similar to this:

I can get a pic over the weekend sometime. Because my 4runner is going In Monday for the week at the detail place. And following week window tint and hopefully tires mounted but that could change with my schedule so I will get you a pic with the window like you asked.

Just got a call from the dealer that my car finally arrived! Almost 17 months since I put my deposit lol just glad it arrived in good condition.

Picking it up early next week and straight to the detail shop for PPF + ceramic coat + tint. Super excited to see it in person!

With winter quickly approaching, FN wheels + K02s is gonna wait until the spring. Prioritizing small stuff (dash cam, phone mount, maxpider mats, some molle panels, etc) and maybe victory4x4 drawers this year.

Appreciate it. I do think that color of wheel will look good with the solar octane.

Agreed that it is hard to get a real sense of what they will look like without mounting the tires.

That pic almost makes the FX wheel look like it’s an 18 wheel”.

No problem!! It’s definitely going to look much better with my Mickeythompson tires. I had matte wheels already and I already after getting these I like the gloss look better. Everything looks different in person for sure.

This time around staying with 265’s. Instead of 285’s. I may add the westcott lift on down the road but still stay with 265’s because I think it still looks good lifted with that size and the 8 inch wheel.

Yep, my plan for now also.

I am up 1” in the front and the rear and staying with 265’s.

Brought my new Pro home September 20 and it went into the garage and have not even started. Now I know how it feels on some of these barn finds. Lol. Guys buy vehicles and park them and never drive them. At least I get to drive it tomorrow to the detail shop. And hopefully pick it up on Friday. It will be well worth it.

Ha! And I thought I was the only one…

Got my SO 4R out yesterday and stretched its legs and finally topped the 100 mile mark!

I try to get it and my Rubicon 392 out and exercise them as often as I can, but only when the sun is shining, no salt is on the roads, and no birds are out of course!

I guess it’s one of the few benefits of getting older… When these vehicles aren’t a daily driver, you can tuck them away for a sunny day.

Although when I drive them, I really drive them. I sold a ‘22 4R a month ago and its last trip was a 6,500 mile western excursion.

Your 22 was a nice runner! I bet you like your Pro more? Yeah I agree it’s nice when you don’t have to drive your 4runner all the time and have other vehicles to use. The way I’m thinking now since I went back to the 4runner Pro from my tundra Pro I will probably be keeping this for a long time. Between my wife and me we have 4 vehicles. She only cares to drive just hers so basically I like having my other 3. And with retiring in January 24 I plan on holding onto my 4runner for a long time.

The almost 1.5 year wait is over! Took delivery end of last week after some paperwork bullshit held it up for a week.

    IMG_0021.jpg

That week from when I inspected it upon arrival/signed for it at the dealer to when I took delivery honestly felt longer than the crazy wait from my deposit last year lol.

Got it home to my (messy :D) garage to unwrap it like a xmas present and give it its first detail.

    IMG_0053.jpg

Usually like to resist driving a brand new car around until I can get it to the detail shop for PPF/ceramic but haven’t been able to resist short trips around town this weekend.

Looking forward to getting it protected this week and finally able to fully enjoy! Really loving the color in person, stunning to look at especially in the sun.
