So undecided on the army green color!

I’m planning on building a 2022 ORP and am stuck between magnetic gray and army green. In some photos, typically in the shade or at night, the green looks fantastic, but in the sunlight the color changes to a very off putting lighter green shade. Is it really as drastic of a difference in person as it is in the dozens and dozens of photos I’ve looked at lol.

I have a magnetic gray truck. The metallic is nice and I feel it actually hides scratches from branches and brush well. Army green is an awesome color though, every one I have seen in person looks great. I am not a huge fan of flat paint colors but would buy an army green truck without hesitation.

I just traded in my white ‘19 for an army green because I was ready for some color. I love all the different looks in different light. I have yet to take delivery of my new Runner (hopefully this week!) but I love all the pictures I’ve seen. If you don’t like color, the MGM is probably a safer bet as I have also seen the AG look pretty bright in certain light.

My wife and I went to the stealership to buy my new vehicle. It was a toss up between the Sequoia in Army Green and the 4Runner (couldn’t get in Army green because I needed the 3rd row and that is not offered on the pro). So needless to say I saved $20k and I have this (waiting on C4 rear bumper):

The army green, on a Off road model, needs the silver valances switched to black. The contrast between the silver and green doesn’t look good IMO.

I have a MGM tundra and it looks sharp with the emblems blacked out and the already dark LED headlights.

    comes down to personal preference

I have a White one, friend has an Army Green, and wife had a MGM (we sold to another friend).

Clean, the MGM looked the very best.

Dirty, the white doesn't look that dirty.

Attention getting, the AG got the most comments.

Long term the MGM was a classic, classy color. If I bought another one I'd be happy with any, but prefer MGM.

I really liked and initially wanted a MGM, but the Lunar Rock grew on me and a Lunar Rock happened to fall into my lap so I jumped on it. My two reasons for ultimately not wanting the MGM is that my current car at the time was that same color (2016 Subaru Crosstrek); and that dark grey / charcoal grey color is everywhere and on so many vehicles for the past ten years. But, still a great color! The AG is another great color, but the silver and chrome accents on the AG OR look awful!

This is a hard one. I have an MGM and love it but I do notice a lot of MGMs on the road. If I had the choice, I would've gone Army Green, but would still be a difficult decision.

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who thinks the green looks much different in the sun. If it looked dark all the time I would have gone with it. But I’m not a huge fan of it in the sun.

Same applies to the Lunar Rock color. Looks best in the shade and a little dirty like a light greenish cement color. Most people post pictures of their Lunar Rocks shiny clean and in the full sun, looks much better in person and in the shade!

I love regular colors for my easiness on touch-ups against scratches on trails.

But for the looks AG with black valance is my fav. 100%

Army green with black accents is my personal favorite. We've had black and super white previously. Black, although terrible for maintenance would be my second choice.

Army green definitely changes depending on the lighting, but looks good in bright and low light to me. Incessant photo filters make it hard to judge when looking online anymore.

I have an AG 2021 Trail edition. The color was a prime motivator in my buying decisions. Yes it does appear lighter in sunlight and darkens up in low light situations. However I think it is unique, green is my favorite color, I always wanted a green truck, and I just drove to Philly and back this morning. Saw tons of 4Runners out on the highway but mine was the only AG around. Its all subjective in the end but I think its a cool color.

I would have not minded if my pro came in AG but ended up with a different green Lime Rush , for the price only one AG right now , I had a CUCV M1028 few years back allways miss that easy touch up and cool as hell truck

I had a MGM Pro. Wanted an Army Green. The MGM showed every scratch. Looked fantastic clean. Wanted a white or Barcelona Red on my '22. Always liked the Nautical Blue. The NB shows even more scratches and even looks purple in some lights. Clean the NB looks amazing. I don't think I will do anything, but white from now on. Metallic paint is impossible to touch up.

This is probably one of the biggest reasons I would've gotten AG if I could've. Hope he (TRDHULK) doesn't mind me posting this, but one of the sickest AG 4Rs I've seen. Owner is a super nice and helpful guy too.

Color is so subjective, but personally I'd vote MGM. AG is cool, I really love it on the 4runner, but it is a very bespoke type look and you really need to commit to the color of your car. Additionally, when it comes time to sell, if you ever do, gray would probably appeal to the masses a little better...
