I have less than 400miles on this runner (it’s not even 2 weeks old) and I noticed flaking on one of my wheels already. It’s not curb rash. In fact there’s no damage to the metal at all. There just seems to be this film peeling away from the lip. Is this common?

I would bring it up to your dealer, definitely seems like the coating is peeling off. Maybe it’s a protective coating for the shipping process?

That’s what I was wondering too but it seems to be really on there. I’m wondering if maybe the clear coat was damaged when they mounted the tires?

It looks to be peeling off in a uniform pattern, so that’s why I would think it’s a protective clear bra of some sort. Try calling your dealer and asking, maybe they have something special for the rigs they allocate. You can clearly tell it’s not curb rash though as there’s no damage or scuff to the tires.

Please turn on a camera and film it while you peel it iff really slowly. Its probably the protective plastic they out on for shipping.

Looks like protective shipping film leftovers to me, not wheel finish. I think you’re fine.

Thanks guys! Exactly what it was… Just a bit of of left over shipping wrap. Took a little adhesive remover to it and it came right off.
