    I can only guess the kick outs are to move your vehicle in a direction so the rear tires can grab. Is that correct?

    I’m pretty new to over-landing. Prior to this I was in to sports cars and got bored with it after 20+ years so I have a ton to learn.

    The main use that I've gotten from my kickouts is to pivot the vehicle off a rock in a tight turn. See picture. (Sorry for my non 4R contribution). I think this is what you meant?
