For people like me that already have an RCI transmission plate installed, you can just add their cat converter protection to your existing skid plate and save a few hundred $ compared to buying a whole new skid ...

Had mine on the tundra stolen about 2 month ago. ETA is 6 month to a year for oem catalytic converter. I bought a 4runner, first thing I did was install talon plates.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
Kinda gives a whole new meaning to the term "armor", doesn't it?

Looks like a great alternative if the OEM one will take months to arrive. But these cats seem a little smaller than OEM. Based on personal experience, when I got my old vehicle's cat changed because it broke, the garage used a third party and it was smaller. I felt a big difference in acceleration and speed. I was never happy with my car after that.

This is true. A month ago someone stole that cat on the car my son drives. Insurance wouldn't pay for OEM so an aftermarket one went on and it was smaller. Two problems. First, it definitely constrains the exhaust flow. The car is different to drive. Second, the reason they are cheaper is they have way much less precious metal inside which means in a few years it will no longer work and if you are in a state that requires emissions tests, you are screwed.

PS CC theft is up 7,000% on the west coast in the last two years.

Pemco. Repair was $1,200 vs $4,000 if you used the OEM Honda. I'd suspect 100 of 100 insurance companies would do the same thing. Heck, on a 2008 Element I bet $4,000 totals the car.

What you could have done was to ask the insurance for a check, and use that towards an OEM ...

I would guess lifted would be the majority of the members.
