I'm deciding between the Scangauge 2 and 3. Had a 2 in my FJ. Leaning towards the 3 but the 2 is more compact. I searched and saw a couple, but no Scangauge 3 mounts that stood out.

Do you have the two dials overhead for MultiTerrain Select (MTS), or the sun glass holder? Somewhere I saw a pretty slick modification that put the Scangauge in the sunglasses holder.

On a 4th gen could tire packs be matched to the scangauge? Or is it all still through the car?

My 2019 has the 2 dials. I've seen a couple mounts on Etsy that plug into the worthless square cubby. It has a curve in it to go around the drink holder. But that's something you have to look down at.

In my opinion the next cleanest solution, that doesn’t require you to look down, is the 3D printed piece that lets you affix your Scangauge to the top of the steering column.

I did this except with the included velcro and no fancy mount.

Plan B would be up on top of the radio, above the left vent/to the left of the clock on that silver piece.

SG II on the column for me. I couldn't think of a good place to put a III as I use my cubby drawers. Got some fancy little holder off Etsy since I could never get it to sit straight with plain velcro. Dreaming of some visor or roof console solution but I haven't seen any decent ideas yet.

A little pricey but I used a pillar mount and slightly modified the back of the SG III mount. Solid and I like it sits higher so I don't have to look down.

Link for that mount please? :spending:
Is it holding there ok? or does it come lose frequently there? I think that corner of the vehicle is perfect for this. SG provides one but I didn't like the suction thing on the glass and the glare at night was too much.

The phone holder part is nice as it gives you options to angle the Scangauge and brings it in closer. The pillar mount is solid, I put a piece of VHB tape between the swivel mount and Scangauge. I think a good velcro would work as well. I have the Scangauge screen set to around 60% brightness - grey color, seems to be close to the brightness/contrast of the dash gauges day and night, so it feels like an extension of the dash when looking forward.Screenshot 2026-04-10 at 5.45.17 AM.png Screenshot 2026-04-10 at 6.09.57 AM.png

What's nice about this spot also is you can run the cable down behind the door seal, and its right near the OBDII port.

I think I'm going with ProClip pillar mount. Getting the Scangauge 3 very soon.

My favorite feature on Scanguage3 is audio and visual alerts. So you don't really need to keep looking at it.
For example if you set A/T temp alert at 200'F it will sound an alarm if you reach that temp and a red alert will show up on screen so you know what the sound alert for.

Not having to enter any codes is a plus too. Just scan the sensors and you can pick which ones you want to see on the screen.

    Edit -
Just a personal opinion; Since scanguage3 has audio alerts you may not need to mount it right in front of you. Again, just a personal opinion.
