I've seen some unnecessary threads started lately due to a lack of search knowledge.

    Use this search parameter:
    site:4runners.com/

So type your question in the regular Google search bar in your web browser followed by the search parameter listed above. I keep a copy of this text in a doc file or in a memo file on my phone and just copy and paste it after my question. It really works, really.

Example: how much lift do I need to run 285/70/17 tires site:4runners.com/

This LINK is what pops up with just one search, plenty of answers in all the links listed on this page. Read till they bleed. It may not give you everything your looking for, but it's a good start. And you'll likely see some other ideas you hadn't thought of as well. You can also try different variations of it and see what happens.
    Example: site:4runners.com/forums/3rd-gen-4runners-1996-2002.16/
Use the Search Force Luke. It's powerful.
Good Luck and take that fine 4x4 off road like it was meant to do!!

I wholeheartedly agree with you. However you are :deadhorse:. I’ve had temper tantrums directed my way for merely suggesting it. Good luck and god speed.

Just to clarify what this type of search is actually doing (for people that might not know)...

You’re using google to search the 4runners.com forum. All google-recommended results of your search will be hits on THIS forum.

It’s a very powerful tool. Instead of getting random search results from all over the web, you’re restricting results to this forum.

Actually I've been using Google a lot less these days for various reasons. Duckduckgo has been working pretty well. This parameter saves time in the long run instead of waiting for people to answer back, at least for the most frequently asked questions, your answer can be pretty quick. And I think all of the same results popped up when I tested it. Link The same format will work for our Sister forum Tacoma World as well. There are definitely some very knowledgeable folks on the two forums that have responded to these questions over the years. And like I mentioned before you may see pictures of other rigs and mods that you hadn't considered before. I hope everyone is safe and healthy out there, Happy Sunday!

Bringing this thread back from the dead. I've used @MI-FL off roader's tip in the first post in this thread so many times I've lost count...

When I noticed a new post asking about swapping for a Pro grille, I thought "if this guy tried this, he'd get more information than he could possibly read..."

I keep the thread in my Watched Threads just to remember to use it. Great search tool.
