Severe RTT whistle!

Howdy y’all, this is my first contribution here.

So I just installed a 23zero Kabari XL tent on the top of my Sherpa Crestone roof rack. The tent is mounted on the Sherpa tent risers, which are then mounted to the cross bars. I feel as though I’ve done just about every recommended trick I have read about online, Gorilla tapping specific channels (I think I’ve taped every single channe), adjusting the fairing up and down, moving the tent, slightly forward or backwards, wrapping the crossbars with para cord. I have tried all of these recommendations, and I am getting an extremely high-pitched almost ear piercing sound coming from above. This is not a set up that I can just take off every day if I wanted to. It’s a 200 pound tent on a lifted 4runner And I unfortunately live more remote without helping hands at the ready. Also aside from being able to take it off if I needed to because of how bad the noise is. I also I’m currently on a long distance road trip. It’s becoming unbearable. I’m to the point where I wanna just take the tent off and say screw it. Prior to installationI did not have any unusual, or excessive noise coming from my roof rack. Has anyone else experienced this with this exact set up? Does anyone else have any further recommendations? Any and all help would be grateful.

I have a rack with accessories and plentiful annoying noises, but do not have that setup and can’t help you. But, wanted to commend your extensive efforts, well written/detailed post, and slick 4R and garage.

Do you have access to a leaf blower? It *might* help to isolate a problem area by directing some high velocity air around various positions around your setup.

Considering the number of ‘openings’, both along the leading edge of the tent/fairing as well as the sides, I’m wondering if you’ve tried taping the roof rack’s side rails where the four major openings as well as the slits above them?

How about the tent’s front latches? Four pieces of tape to create smooth fillets along the top, sides and bottom.

Everywhere there’s a protrusion is suspect even the gas struts, a bracket here or there no matter how small…

Seems like you have two choices, lose the tent and rack or buy some noise canceling headphones.

Welcome from Wisconsin! Myself, I would lose the tent, that's just me, don't know what to tell you about the noise, it's surely annoying. Any consolation, you have a great looking 4Runner! Good luck.
