Sequential Mirror Upgrade

I'm looking at upgrading to a sequential LED for my mirrors but not sure which route to go with. Cartrim or Running 4 tacos??

Running 4 tacos appear the be a little brighter but I'm not sure. Please chime in...

I did the Cartrim version. Overall I'm happy but they only had a smoked option, there was no blacked out option available like with the Runnin4tacos version. The fit on the Cartrim one is perfect, everything sits nice and flush, no movement or anything. I made a post it about a week ago with pics & video:

The smokey color depending on your style may not be dark enough for you. The brightness of it is better than OEM but I don't think its quite as bright as the Runnin4Taco's version from the videos I saw - but that could just be the camera.

 

I chose the runnin 4 tacos for a few reason. I like to support guys who put up a lot of easy to follow install videos, but I also wanted the blackout turn signals, not just the smoke. I’ve used their videos on a few installs, and they are clearly enthusiasts. I haven’t had any issues with mine and they were very easy to install.

 

I'm leaning towards these a little more since I'm going for the blacked out look.

 

I agree that it may be the camera and the lighting when the video were recorded. Prior to your post i was dead set on the R4T version. I wasnt aware of Cartrim at all.

^this, I've had CTH, decided I wanted the total blackout from R4T and they seem identically made

 

Blacked out from R4T here but I did not go with sequential. I just wanted the standard blink to match the front signals.

 

I did the Runnin4Tacos blacked out sequentials. I had the smoked sequentials on my Tacoma, and both were an easy install, and look great!

Like @sherwood4runner said, I like to support people who give back - even if it’s in a simple way, like making clear install videos for nearly every product they sell.

 

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll be going with Running4Tacos sequential blacked out version. I will be adding the blacked out alpharex headlights soon after.

 

Are the blacked out ones bright? Can’t find a picture/video of the blacked out ones operating.

Does anyone know if the wiring and everything is there where they could be added to a runner that didn’t come factory with the mirror turn signals?


Edit/ quick search shows that apparently the wires needed are only installed on models that come with the factory option. Oh well, life goes on

 

Ordered R4T today! looking forward to getting them. Any one change the puddle bulb? If so which is a very bright choice that doesn't flicker?

I am so angry with R4T. Absolutely the worst purchase I could have made with them. Worst customer service and absolutely could care less to help make a bad situation better. FedEx is shut down in my area and are re-directing packages for months now. I placed my order and that morning it went on sale and they offered 10% off for Labor Day. I called and emailed and said I placed an order at 1:15am the day of the sale. The sale went live at 8am so I missed the sale because I was a few hours early. I asked if they would be willing to honor that discount price. They Refused and could care less about my business. I was wondering why I paid shipping and handling after I told them not to ship with FEDEX due to the closure. What did they do they shipped with FEDEX. It states it will take 12 days to arrive from Denver To Atlanta are you kidding me! It won't even make it because the Fedex distribution is closed!. First time buying with them and this is my last time I give them my business.

Got mine from R4T. Quick shipping, very secure packaging, and a snap to replace. It's dark and overcast today so pardon the cruddy pic:

 

Two comments you're not going to like. The sale started at 8am and you ordered too early. R4T had zero obligation to extend the sale to anyone either before or after the sale time. Had they done so, where does it end? 5 hours before/after? 12 hours before after? 24 hours before/after? Rules are put in place for a reason.

Secondly, it is plain as day during the checkout process that it will be shipped via FedEx. That was your chance to back out and order from someone else. You didn't.

This sounds like you whining about not getting what you want - an exception to the rules. If I were the owner of R4T I'd blacklist you from any future orders for posting this bitchy crap.
