    Hi all,
Just looking at getting the Hewitt kit as preventative maintence on my 4runner. It looks from all the videos ive seen that its a real pain to install the block off plates.. and some people seem to neglect to.
My question is, will I likely run into issues if theyre not installed, is there people on here running there 4runners without the plates?
    Thanks in advance

Late reply, but looking to help you if you still need it. Block off plates are only needed if you are getting codes for the valves stuck open. You dont technically need them for valves stuck closed. If you have no codes at all you can do the bypass kit without the plates. Installing the Slyfox kit tonight as preventative maintence tonight.

Installed the kit and plates on my Tundra. All in, it was a little tight but doable with a little patience.

No issues after 30k miles after adding.
