Samsung battery swelling / possible fire issue

    Hello everyone,

I know this is off topic but I think this is important for your safety. Looks like this is a hot topic these days with famous tech reviewers which I came across y'day. I wonder if I should react now or keep my eye on and react if I get the issue.

I really dislike to get a iPhone and give up the functionality of Samsung from Google eco system of managing contacts (including addresses) to my music to easy file transfers like videos for my Youtube content.

I had two Samsung phones in a row where the battery swelled. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. On my second iPhone now. No battery swell.

I'm on my 3rd or 4th Samsung without any issues. The 2nd one used to get hot while charging in the car but it was also older and in direct sunlight which didn't help. Replaced my last one because battery life degraded (oddly enough, one of the reasons I switched is because batteries were at one time replaceable while iphone was not). This one has never gotten hot while charging but I have a CD slot mount phone holder that fits perfectly in the vent so if I charge and it's in the sun I turn the air on and open the vent to keep it cool.

The only phone battery that I've actually had swell was the old iPhone 4 I took out of a drawer a couple of weeks ago. It was probably approaching 10 years old though and can't remember the last time it was charged.

I was a samsung fan boy for the longest time until they tried to screw us with our z fold 3s screens cracking on the folding crease. Switched to the fruit thingy.

Samsung has gone way downhill when they decided to copy Apple on everything (non removable battery, no charger, etc) And ios is getting better with new releases and catching up to 2018 Android.
