    Good day all,

Anyone from S. Florida on the forum - know a good 4runner mechanic??

Or, does anyone have recommendations for a good mechanic in the south FL area, that has 4runner experience? 2018 LTD (107K miles) ride is getting rough and at last maintenance service I was told shocks are leaking. Not sure if the XREAS is shot or what so may be looking to delete XREAS and covert to BILSTEIN 5100 as recommended on this forum.

I'd like to find a good mechanic who knows 4runners if possible who can give me a honest opinion, has 4runner experience and could handle the XREAS delete/Bilstein job properly. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance - Much appreciated!!!

You dont need a 4runner specialist
You need anyone who can turn a wrench
Replacing the Xreas is not rocket science, its quite literally unbolting one shock absorber and swapping it out with another. There are no real special tools needed. A 10mm wrench, 14mm wrench, 19mm wrench, and a 22mm wrench, floor jack and jack stands. This isnt some super complicated surgery, its pulling one shock off and replacing it with a different one. Any competent shop can do it, find a shop that doesnt charge you some outrageous $250 an hour and take your parts to them and let them swap it out. I am an average mechanic, i dont own a fancy shop, i work on a concrete pad with a floor jack and i can swap out a complete 4 shock Xreas setup by myself in less than 2 hours start to finish.

Agree. And you can tell if the system is leaking by looking at it. There will be oil.
