I bought Westin brackets part# 27-1945 that were supposed to fit my 2024 Limited. They don’t come close to fitting the same angle as the original brackets where they mount to the underside of the body. Westin says they fit as well as the label on the box, but they aren’t even close. Now I’m back to square one! I can’t hardly get the tip of my toe on the originals because they don’t stick out enough. Does anyone else have this problem? Or a solution?

Welcome. The OEM running boards for the limited have plenty of room. What running board are you using with the bracket? Also, pictures would help greatly.

They are original oem running boards and brackets. Problem is, the Limited has an extended rocker panel under the doors so you can’t get your foot totally on it because they’re is not enough space.

Haven’t removed original bracket. Any way original bracket can be modified by extending hoke for board?

You could slot out the mounting holes for the running boards maybe a half inch to get the boards out, but they’re still isn’t enough room for your foot between the board and the bottom of the rocker panel.

I am to pickup vehicle this week. You have researched this I can tell. If one wanted to get wider running board is that an option you might know of? Might try to swap out if possible. I couldn't find one

If the Westin brackets would have mounted correctly to the underside of the body, they would have worked perfectly, as they would have extended and lowered the running boards by one inch. Maybe they put the wrong brackets in the correctly labeled box. I’m going to call them tomorrow morning and let you know how I make out. IMG_7088.jpg

Yes, six brackets. There are 2 specifically for the front. The other 4 are for the middle and back. They are not side specific.

Saw this on previous thread. Someone said brackets worked well on 2017 limited. You may have already seen this. Thought perhaps could tell if wrong part in box. PXL_20210109_202339624.jpg PXL_20210109_202319424.jpg

That’s the factory bracket he’s holding in the first picture. Notice the top is on about a 45 degree angle. The ones from Westin is almost 90 degrees on the top.

I’m thinking maybe they mis-labeled the box at the factory. I’m going to call their customer service tomorrow and hopefully I’ll get a live person to talk to.

Hard to see in first picture but think westin bracket is behind it. If so then probably mislabeled.

I just added 6" iStep boards from Extreme Terrain to our 2014 Limited (added OEM mud flaps at the same time). They are nice and wide and the brackets on the underside of the step are adjustable so you can make it poke out as much as you want. They've only been on about 3 weeks but have been sturdy and seem like they will last long-term.

Jeff. I just returned them. They mis-labeled the box. They’re going to send me the correct set.

This is awesome, exactly what I need for my limited. My kid just slides off the plastic sill and scratched the crap out of the paint and chrome as he can't put a proper step on the running board. Never though of looking for some kind of extension until this showed up in threads.... this site kicks as..

A guy on FB did this. If I do this, my boards will stick out past the tires.

Westin brackets with OEM running boards. Took about an hour. I didn't use any of the provided hardware. Mudguards next.

I also used the Westin brackets for 2020 OEM running boards on my 2011 4Runner Limited. The brackets on the 2020 running boards wouldn’t clear the trim, but the Westin brackets gave the perfect clearance in my opinion.
