Rocky Mountain Toyota Roundup in Ouray

Anyone else going this year? As expected it sold out in 10 minutes. Hope to see other 5g owners on the trails.

How does this work? Does the trail close for everyone else?

 

No they only limit the number attending the event to keep size of convoys reasonable. My first time getting a ticket maybe someone who has attended can weigh in.

For this trail run I am not willing to do it solo and wanted a group.

 

I would love to go one day.

 

I was in that area last year with a friend doing the trails. I had no idea that this event was happening at the same time we were there until a guy camping near us asked me if I came for the roundup.

I happened to run into a one of the Roundup convoys as I was making my final climb up the shelf road to Engineer Pass. My buddy was nearly at the top around the corner and let me know about 10 were starting to descend. That gave me a little time to find a little notch on the trailside and squeeze in tight against a rock and wait till they passed. I’m glad I knew they were on their way down so I could pick my spot!
