Hey guys! So we're headed out for another trek to WDW in a couple weeks and this time it'll be from San Antonio to Orlando and back. I'm curious what kind of gear everyone brings along. Whether it's just for emergencies or makes life easier (especially with a 4 and 7 year old) while driving long days. I've got a case in the back with a handful of emergency items but I want to see what you guys find useful to have on hand. Even things like tablet mounts or stuff in the back would be good to know. Thanks!

basic med bag with wet wipes, small trash bag, OTC meds (Benadryl, pepto tabs, Dramamine for anyone who gets car sick, water bottles, etc)

I have a bunch of other stuff I load up for trips, but that’s some of the basic stuff that I would call essential

A basic set of tools for roadside repairs. (A lesson I learned the hard way a loooong time ago.) A "banana" to keep the bad guys at bay. Out of state puts a target on you. (But you're from Texas so that statement is probably redundant. ;))

Coins for the unexpected tollway. Beer. It's a lot cheaper in Wis. than most other places. I don't leave home without it.

A few hundred in cash in case the credit card gets hacked. Another lesson learned the hard way. Have a back-up card, just in case.

Since you have 'lil ones, spill proof sippy cups.

For a common road trip. I think the above covers it.... Oh wait, you got little ones so I'm assuming you have plenty of devices to keep them happy?

One of the items I'm researching is a frig. Still have a couple mods to do before we take off on another epic road trip. Frig is on the list. What do you think of yours? Direct wiring possible?

Duck (duct) or Gorilla tape. 20 years ago an old girlfriend laughed at me for bringing a roll on a road trip. On the way back her power window wouldn't roll all the way up. Guess what...

Edit: and since 4R's are based on 20 year old tech. ;)

Im still floored people drop $600 more for a Dometic or another brand. The SetPower fridge is extremely power efficient. I can run the fridge as a fridge only at 29 degrees for 5 days off of a Jackery 850.

The fridge comes with two wires. One is a fridge to Male cigarette lighter end. The other is a female cigarette lighter to wall outlet wire. The ONLY issue I have had is the male to female cigarette connectors being loose.
As long as the wall outlet accessory is used at home, or when you are stationary, its a non-issue. When you are in the rig, the fridge to male connector is snug and does not pop out, even during moderate off-roading.
Long story short, I would not hesitate to buy another one.

Here is another thread on the convo, you may see some other offerings:

Thanks for the link. I'm looking for something like the Set Power, tried to post review link didn't work. Or a Massimo.

I sure don't want to pay for "a name" which is what alot of our 4Runner mods entail. Such as lights that are crazy expensive and most of it is about a brand name.

No doubt, I use KC Hilites for my roof rack and ditch lights because I really like the quality of their product. But on other things I went more functional than name brand (Jegs generic sliders, the SetPower, etc.)

Everyone has a different voyage to building out their rig. I think thats what makes it enjoyable. No two setups are identical.

    UPDATE: SetPower Fridge:

So this thread encouraged me to reach out to them and see if they had corrected their power plug issue to the wall. They actually responded and offered to send me a new plug model that apparently has fixed that issue. It's great to know that they will stand behind their product!
