    Hi!

I'm new to this forum and 4Runners. I love my Tacoma but needed a 4x4 for inclement weather. I would appreciate advise on traveling with two dogs and weather proofing/bug proofing/dog proofing my vehicle. Thanks! Lauren ❤

This is about all i have done as far as dog proofing goes. It is a rubber truck bed mat cut to fit, got it on Amazon. Welcome to the forum Lauren.

I’d get rufflands and set up your back like this. not my picture but I have the same set up. You can put an XL and L next to each other in the back. Safest means to travel for your pups and yourself.

    Welcome from Nebraska!
We have the factory winter weather mat for the rear as that is all the room we give him. Our 85# GSD sheds soo much I wish we had also (still may) get a set of canvasback liners. I don't have a link but tons of people here use them to keep hair maintenance as easy as possible.
    Good luck & welcome again,
    Ryan

I can only find a picture of me locked in after installing & had to call my wife to let me out! LolScreenshot_20210110-192108_Gallery.jpg

Welcome to the forum, @laureninthewoods !

Lots of good ideas here! Our Boston Terrier usually lays in back on top of the folded seats.

Welcome from Wisconsin! Our Boston Terrier likes to sit on the center console top, which we put a towel on, or on someone's lap.

My wife and I are travel RNs so we are constantly on the road with our dog. I just use a full length cargo cover. Fairly cheap and easy to replace and vacuum. It has zippers so I can put the seat behind the drivers seat down and leave the one behind the passenger up so one of us can snooze while the other drives. I also throw a foam mattress cover under it for camping and sleep in there. Works well for us.
