Looking for a rear tire carrier that will hold my spare along with my Maxtrax, Hi-lift jack and Rotopax. With the addition of the 14gal water tank where my spare tire was, I need to relocate the tire. The roof rack just isn't working out. I was initially about to pull the trigger on the RIGd but then ran into a fellow 4R sporting a test swing out for Dirtcom. Looks legit but doesn't have the following or the proven product history like RIGd. Thoughts?

I’m not an owner of either but am in the market for an accessory carrier for the rear area. My issue with the Rigd is that at $1500+ the unit doesn’t have built trailer plug to provide lighting to the relocated tag and or a built-in factory camera extension/relocation like the FJ design. These two add-ons boost the price up above $2K and I so keep closing the browser and walking away.
It blows my mind someone can sell a product that requires you to relocate the tag and not deal with the state to state requirement of lighting a plate. Some say, well it’s removable and it’s for off-road, but I ask what about the fact that most drivers are required to use a main road to get from their home to the off-roading trails. Reminds me of the old days with the emerging HID retrofit market; everyone asked are they road legal or not? and the manufacturers said drive at your own risk.

I’ll be looking into the Dirtcom. Thanks for the pointer and keep me posted on what you decide.

    All of them.
At those price points I’d go full rear bumper. For around the 2k mark you can get a single swing bumper built and shipped. Victory for the base bumper is 1500 ish maybe a little less then you can add to your hearts desire.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I actually liked how there was a little more distance between the swing and the vehicle with the Rigd Ultraswing, but with Rago accessories being up in the air who knows if I'm going to be able to get the Rago molle panel for it when I do get one of these swings. I was actually really looking forward to using it for a lot of different little things.

I do like how you can fit a Rotopax on the inside of the Dirtcom, but I wonder how difficult it will be to fit the Rotopax on the outside as well. When I get my swing out, I might not be using it to carry a spare. I'm also unsure about mounting a hi-lift jack onto it. There's a whole accessory for that with the Rigd.

My understanding from IG messaging Dirtcom, the Hi-lift jack mount is still a work in progress and looks to be mounted on the drivers side of the spare tire. Not really wanting the Hi-lift handle right smack in the middle of my rear window; off to the passenger side like RIGd seems more feasible and less interference with sight line. But all the posts are spot on, once you start tallying up the accessory costs, you're getting close to a low $$$ full bumper build.

Well, that's a bummer. Maybe it can be mounted on that side accessory they sell for the Rotopax, too. That thing that's like the one Rago had for the Rigd for about a month before taking it down mysteriously.

Yeah, it's not cheap, but it's right for some people. I just don't want to carry the weight around all the time.

Dirtcom has a bottle opener so it must be good. jk
I had plans of adding hi-lift and rotopax to my carrier too (DOM) and it actually came with a roto mount, but I quickly realized that these type of hitch carriers are not ideal to carry all this stuff. Table and light items are fine but a tire/wheel, 4G fuel and a hi-lift I'm not sure.
You are better off with a full bumper specially at those prices. DOM is only $600 and so far it's been good with no issues. The only issue is the wait which was 20+ weeks in my case...

What makes it not ideal? Genuinely curious.

Anyone have an idea on current wait times for order fulfillment with Rigd?

Most everyone here has had to take a ticket. One nice thing about that....if you haven't done enough research prior to placing an order, you'll have plenty of time after the fact. ;)

What is it they say? Time flies when you're having fun :playball:

Reminds me of that last scene out of Beetlejuice where he takes a number and it's way past the one they are on.
