I've seen it referred to several times, but couldn't find detailed instructions anywhere: does anyone know how can I relocate the USB in the dash (that connects the system to CarPlay) into the glove compartment?

No cords laying around the cabin. I routed mine to the center console, cable and phone out of site

    Unmount stereo
    Remove AC knobs
Remove usb you're looking to move
Cut tape that holds wires in place (doing so will allow usb connector to reach behind glove box)
    Remove blank from glove box
Feed wire hanger through and tape the USB connector then pull it through
Plug USB connector to USB then slide it into its new home
    Drink a beer

    None, yet...
@ruiz4251 when you did this was the blank spot in the glove box the same dimension as the USB from the center stack? I am looking to do this to my 2020 pretty soon here but the USB looks smaller than a normal rocker switch. Thanks in advance.

I tried moving it in my '21 but the socket (USB location) in the glove box is a different size than the one in the center stack (OEM location).

    @GearGuy85
    Yeah No
I remember now...I had to trim the stock location in order to fit the QC 3.0/5V 3V.
However, the after market QC3.0 WILL fit into the glove box location no trim required16504981944895767519174695787111.jpg 16504982429105756955165012876481.jpg

Old thread but I've tried popping out the USB in my dash and I got all the way to popping it into place in the glove box only to discover that the opening in the glove box is too small for the USB port from the dash. Arg! So I've been researching how to do this in my 2021 4Runner and have sprouted gray hairs in the process.
Found your post and your pictures are exactly what I want to replicate!
How exactly did you get yours to fit?
Is your USB port a different size? (Maybe the size changed from model years?)
Thanks for any help you can offer!!
