I have recently installed an Icon stage 7 lift on my 21' 4runner TRD ORP. The rear is a 2" lift. I hate it! My 4runner is soo bouncy now and I've tried every setting of ride feel from soft to firm on the CDCV valves.
I would like to lower my center of gravity with a 1" or at max a 1.5" spring. I want one that has a smooth feel, similar to stock setup. Possibly a somewhat dynamic spring. I do plan to overland with a RTT eventually. It will more often then not be driven without the RTT though due to it being my daily driver.
    1. What springs are you currently or have previously used?
    2. What was your experience?
    3. How did the ride quality feel?
    4. Anyone know of a 1" spring that will keep the squat away if I have weight in the rear but also have a smooth ride feel?

Lift isn't going to feel like stock.

What was the purpose of buying a lift and not to mention the Stage 7? Sounds like you are more concerned about it squatting and some air bags could of helped with that.

I've had bags in my Tundra and now I have RoadActiveSuspension.

The road active is a lot smoother and keeps most of the stock feel. The bags we a lot harsher. I know you can't get road active for the 4R.

But people like Sumo Springs. I've never used them though.

Thanks for the advice, I knew it wouldn't feel the same as stock, but hoped that going to an adjustable shock it would help keep the ride smooth. The bounce in my 4runner feels like a pogo stick, even worse at slower speeds. I do have sumo springs and they don't help.
I'm really looking for spring suggestions and/or feedback on spring experiences.

Does anyone have spring recommendations, warnings against, or want to share their experiences with the feel of their springs?

I'm running 5100 rear shocks with a T13 spring. 12% stiffer than stock. I'm running a drawer box with tools in the back. Absolutely love the ride. Got about 1 1/2" lift from them. I sag maybe a quarter inch after putting in my drawer box. (200lbs. or so) No pogo stick feel at all. I have the Lexus copy extended bump stops in the rear. I also stuck the landing on an accidental RR crossing jump at 50 MPH on a rural GA road. Very pleased with my set-up.

Check dobinsons. There is thread here on all the options and specs. I think you will find what you need in their menu of options. Their experts are also very nice so call them up.

Sounds like the shocks are not valved right, or pressurized properly. The shock controls the bounce, and if it doesnt have enough nitrogen the shock will blow right thru the valving and bounce like crazy. Also if the shock isnt valved properly it will do the same thing. I see the same thing when people put the Tacoma shocks on the 4R, the rears absolutely suck and bounce because the shock for the Tacoma was valved for a leaf spring and no weight in the bed but when put on a heavier 4R the shock cant control how fast the coil spring rebounds.

Also, for a 1" lift with more weight capacity i would lean towards the Eibach 1" lift spring, off memory its about 50psi higher than the stock spring for a little more load capacity, you get right at 7/8"-1" lift out of it, and it feels about the same as stock.

Per Eibach tech support, the standard weight +1” lift springs are 205 lb/in vs 180 lb/in for OEM
