    Hello
I have a 2024 4Runner one of the features I loved about it was that it alerted me (beeping) when there was a car near as I was backing up or if there was an object/person. For some reason in the last month it’s big alerting me when I’m backing up however it will alert if there is a person. I’ve researched and also taken to the dealer and they said it’s fine but it’s not. I can’t seen to find anyone with this issue.

    My messages also show this:
    Pre-Collision System
A malfunction in the Pre-Collision System has been detected. Do not rely on this system.
Contact your Toyota dealer in order to have your vehicle inspected.

but according to my dealer they nothing is wrong.
I was wondering if anyone here has had this issue.

Tell your dealer that they are obligated to honor warranty, to diagnose your malfunction, and to give you results of the diagnosis in writing.

    Welcome.
If this is tied to the BSM sensors, then there is a sensitivity adjustment in the MID settings.

I think what is being said is that the system is seeing people but not vehicles.
