It is not a good thing to keep creating threads about non 4Runner topics. We will have this one for non 4Runner stuff.

I am watching this documentary about the survivors of the 1972 plane crash on the Andes mountains. They ate the flesh of their dead friends to survive. I wouldn't blame them. They had to live. They started with the pilot.

I think if I were in their shoes I would have been too chicken to survive. These guys specially Nando are amazing.

 

Did they start with the pilot because it was their fault for crashing?

 

Was the pilot male or female? What parts did they decide to begin eating first?

Pilot was a male. They ate almost everything. Only bones were left as they show in one photograph. They must have started from the surface I guess. Plenty of meat in arms, thighs and chest. And they ended up with the organs. Heart must have tasted great.

So from a 4 Runner perspective the trails through the mountains in the San Juan Range are some of our favorite. They seem to get scarier as they deteriorate and as I get older. Crawling through Engineer Pass isn't for the faint of heart!

 

The actress playing Nando's little sis is just an apple pie. What a horrible sight for a brother to lose a little sis that way

 

A similar take is in a short story by Stephen King called Survivor Type. It's worth a read!

The Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan have similar stories around them. India is called Hind in Persian, so Hindu means Indian, and Kush means killer. A poor Indian Caravan that was not used to that kind of horrible climate, died over there
