The biggest problem is majority customers need a vehicle. And the dealers have you over a barrel. I’m the 1 percent when I deal with getting a vehicle I don’t need to buy it where they think you need to. I have more than one vehicle to drive. Just my opinion. Just listen to how the sales people talk to you. Eventually things will change when the sales start slowing down and it’s happening.

You hit the nail on the head . My wife has had the same 2011 corolla s for 10 years and it's at 172k and still such a great car. I have an very nice 2004 durmax crew cab and I drive a company truck primarily . She has wanted a 4 runner for years and we are in a comfortable financial position that we can afford one . We will find one . We are not hard pressed . I'm almost wondering if there will be a flood of used ones in a year when they introduce the 6th gen .

This is the way to go. Just keep your old ORP wheels/tires for long road trips. Better MPG and ride than the AT tires.

Since you are not in a rush, I would wait and get a 2024. They should start releasing the allocations sometime this month. Also, shop outside of your region, or local area. You can find invoice-priced deals and have the 4Runner shipped to you for far less than what you would pay locally. Write down a list of must-have, factory-installed options and stick to that. All of the port-installed stuff can be added later. You'll probably end up taking off all of the PIO stuff and selling it for a loss.

Remember, there are dealers who will treat you right and want your business. You just have to search and find that dealer.

Yes definitely, it's exactly why I said I wasn't proud of being nasty to that salesman but damn does it fit the stereotype. The only thing about 24 is I don't believe there will be a lunar rock . Not the end of the world as she also loves black. I'm honestly glad that I have the chance to buy one without all the port installed stuff. For some people who have never turned a wrench thats a big deal but I have a few old hot rods and build vintage harleys so swapping stuff out is no big deal.

Is it midnight metallic black? If this helps- While they look great when freshly washed they only stay clean for about 10 min after a wash and wax…

Yes what I heard No LunaRock for 24’s. But you still have time to find a 23 dealers get them in and no one has their name on them. Just a timing thing to find one at the right price.

I was worried they were going to pull some bait and switch tactics when I read their pricing fine print on their website.

you can find exactly what you want.
Expand your search, any decent dealer will be willing to work a deal over the phone. When looking for my truck I called all dealers in The Pacific Northwest. after a couple weeks I started getting a LOT of call backs on allocations. Which also gave me negotiation power because I wouldn’t have any problem walking away from a deal because I had so many dealers with allocations that wanted my business. I lucked out and found the best deal at the closest dealer to me.

Lynch Toyota in Manchester CT is showing a lunar ORP KDSS in Stock. Not sure if you're interested in taking a train up for the purchase, but I purchased from them and they were excellent to work with. Freddy is the sales manager and Margarita helped me out along the way. Not sure if it has black TRD wheels or overlays, but as others said, you can add those cheaper after the fact

Yes to be fair I'd rather have one that has the less amount of port options as possible as the money they charge for the stuff is ridiculous. I'll have to look into that dealer. I'm not sure if being so far away they would deal or not . I thought most dealers only like to deal with people who are semi local but I will check it out

If you want to call them send me a PM and I'll give you my name, you can tell them I referred you. I have a friendly relationship with them. Not sure if they have anything about out of state buyers or outside financing right now, but neither one of those was a factor for me last year.

Funny thing is, I looked up the one you were considering from Jerry's on the website, and it shows MSRP $53,XXX, online price $50,XXX, and your seemed to indicate the final price was over MSRP. So what's the deal, they just bait people in I guess?

Correct. They told me they had to charge for market adjustment the first time I went in. I literally laughed lol. Then they offered 56k otd. I said 54otd and ill take it . Is it worth me coming in on my only day off or am I unreasonable.. he told Me to come in . Then they denied my 54k and even the 56k . They didn't even counter . To say I was angry is an understatement. I personally think that the sales manager had a change of heart and figured " ah screw this guy , some moron who can't think for himself will come in and pay Market adjustment for the truck and we can laugh all the way to the bank" . He is probably right. Until the publics IQ goes up this issue will never end.

I would call toyota and get them involved for what its worth. I had a dealer do this crap to me and I walked and got my truck from another dealer.

I don't know if it has KDSS on it but dealers in my area are starting to deal on the 2023 4runners. A Lunar color TRD ORP is $48800

"Dealers make $$ on financing, some for originating the loan, potentially much more if they charge an interest rate above whatever the lender is using internally."

This is so true. Along with a variety of extended warranties, dealer add-ons, etc., etc. When you enter the office of the finance dept., that's where the real final sale is made. I call it the "closing" room. This is where much, if not most of the dealer profit is made when they sell a new/pre-owned vehicle.

Are you saying 50,300 OTD with taxes and fees? If they are going to do $50,300 OTD that’s a hell of a deal.

I found it funny the salesperson talked about Jerry’s. I looked at their reviews there was a lot of people complaining about the bait and switch tactics, so scummy. I almost left a review for you lol.
