Has anyone had to replace the Vacuum Vapor Vent Solenoid on the intake? I've been troubleshooting and worked my way from most expensive catalytic converter replacement to EGR switching valve to Vapor Vacuum valve at the possible head of the problem. The valve is supposed to let the gas return to the tank and I started by replacing gas cap which worked a while. Only get a code at first startup a if cold and sometimes not at all in a warm startup. It also seems like if I touch the pedal before first 3 minutes of warm up, it seems to cause it. I have a sooty exhaust tip which is supposed to be a symptom and being at startup I was thinking it's too rich from gas vapor. I'm just not used to replacing parts and being poor with time on my hands makes me want to learn. Cleaned EGR switching valve Bank 2 as well as I could. Looked fine for $181. Tried secondary air pump. No avail. Rockauto has downstream right Denso O2 sensor for $30 and vacuum valve for $40. My next steps. I'm just throwing it out there to see if anyone else has solved it without replacing expensive everything? Experience, ideas, comments and stupid questions welcome. I'm not smart enough to be offended, but I'm trying.

No. I already replaced that. 6 parts stores in town didn't even have a PCV valve for a 4runner. I found a brand new Toyota PCV in my tool box for a 3.4 and it's the same thing with different part numbers and prices. No difference. I have a catch can installed. That's what is leading me to the Vacuum Vapor valve. If it's not working right at startup, I am thinking it's the Vacuum control affecting the PCV. I'm going to test it with my Mighty Vac to check for function. My exhaust tip is really sooty and I'm not burning oil.
