I joined the Lexus GX/GXOR family recently. I picked up my 2008 Lexus GX470 in Dallas, TX and brought it back home to Oklahoma City, OK.

    Details of the rig:
    -130,000 miles
-TB/WP, Front Brakes, Radiator, and Alternator were all replaced within the past 5K miles.
-lifetime Texas vehicle, so no rust at all.
    -No wrecks
    - Airbags work perfect

Got it home and already did the first mod: running boards removed. Hopefully much more work to be done in the coming months/years.

Found some used, but good condition Weathertech floor mats for the front and middle rows locally for $80 total. Pretty good deal, just need to clean them up a bit.

Got an AJT Designs key fob. Is it sad that this is one of the things I was most excited for when I got my GX?

I ordered the NAPA vehicle awning the other day for $94. We will see what all the hype is about when I get it installed this weekend.

Similar, but a bit more expensive one on Amazon if the NAPA one is out of stock: Vehicle Awning

I also replaced the gas cap just as a preventative measure against the check engine light that many people get from a bad gas cap.

I used Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner on my fairly weathered drivers seat. It didn’t make a big difference visually, but helped quite a bit with the severely cracked spots. My clothes don’t catch on those spots anymore and the leather overall is softer.

Left is before and right is after.

I bought these TRD wheels on Facebook on a whim. They look pretty good but I would prefer a blacked out look vs. these gunmetal ones so I went ahead and ordered some RockTrix RT116's. My F-150 before this was black with grey wheels, so I kind of want a change of pace.

Now to decide if I should get some AT tires to wrap these in.

I got the Napa Awning installed this morning. It went on pretty easy. I drilled holes in my roof crossbars and bolted the L-brackets directly to them. I would say that it is fair quality for the price. The construction and materials are definitely not bomb proof but are adequate and will do their job of providing shade! Let me know if you have any questions and check out my YouTube video on this install!

Also, unfortunately it looks like the Gates TB/Water Pump kit done in 01/2021 is failing already. I am going to have the spark plugs replaced too since I do not know if/when they were last done. So here is a list of my RockAuto order for the repairs that I am having done:
    • Aisin (TKT021) Timing Belt, Water Pump & Component Kit
    • Bando (6PK2240) Drive Belt
    • Denso (3297) Spark Plugs
    • Tuff Support (613070) Lift Supports

I forgot to mention that I ordered the Teyes CC3 head unit and accessories!

Front left brake line decided to start leaking a couple days ago, so the rig is back in the shop getting that fixed. Brake fluid got all over my front left wheel so hopefully we get that cleaned off in time not to damage the paint.

I got the Bison Gear Under Seat Accessory Bracket for the Lexus GX470 installed. It is a really cool addition to have a little bit of quick access storage in the drivers or passengers seat area. Check out my video on the product below!

Got the Garage Alpha TRD grill in and installed. Loving the upgrade. I still need to wire up the raptor lights.

Now I need to black out the headlights or get some sport headlights.
