    Just ran to the grocery and this thread came to mind


    A Prius was ahead of me and parked in a normal spot and I parked next to them in a compact (last one available on the aisle).

    Them: I can park wherever I want

    Me: You should’ve

    What really pissed me off was that they told me I had to take possession of the bags or don't fly home, I told them it was not my choice to fly here and this was not part of my origianl flight booking.So it is up to you to transfer my bags to my final destination on my re-booked flight I was to the point I would have booked my own flight and leave my bags as giving up a $450 Glock 19 would have been cheaper that all the legal shit I would have possibly been in.....

    I'm sure it's a matter of opinion.

    For someone in a mountain of student loan debt (or possibly any student loan debt), I'd be surprised if they weren't 100% for it and will vote for anyone talking about doing it.

    Personally, because I worked full time and paid as I went so I didn't have to take on debt, I find it a slap in the face to myself and others who made responsible decisions. It wasn't easy to work full time, have your first kid, and go back to school as an adult but it was the right decision. It probably doesn't help that I've heard stories of other people's classmates that used their student loans to buy cars (maybe a smart decision if interest rate was lower), pay for off campus apartment rentals, furnish those apartments with nice TVs and furniture, and for vacations like spring break. In their defense (I know one of them), they don't complain about their debt and have been paying it off. But I bet they wouldn't hesitate to have taxpayers foot the bill should it be offered on a silver platter

    None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
    I was considered "paranoid" at one time, until I realized that in my line of work at the time, "They" really were out to get me! That kinda dawns on one when the rounds start whizzing by overhead.

    It jusst sort of stayed with me, and has saved my tail on more than one occasion. Call me what you will, I'm still hobbling along, and there are more than one who're not.

    Grinds my gears? I guess people driving at a speed or in a certain way that is 'above' their skill level and endangering others. people do not 'work' at honing driving abilities/skills it seems. Skills/abilities are not sold with the vehicle... you have to continually 'work' at it. 3.5 million safe driving miles in commercial vehicles has taught me that little tid-bit. Let's be safe out there!

    Grinds my gears? People who hit cars in a parking lot and then take off.

    Was in a parking lot yesterday punching something into GPS when I heard a crunch. Looked up and saw someone pulling into the parking space in front and adjacent to me. They stopped after they pulled into the space (looking like they parked and were about to get out) and I waited for a second to see if their busted ass car was just making noises or if they really hit the other car while pulling into the space.

    Then before I could react they quickly drove past me (parking space beside me was open) and left the parking lot as fast as possible. It was then I could see they clearly scraped the shit out of the quarter panel of the other car as they pulled in and then left without a trace

    Very well said. What’s really sad is that there is no requirement to teach students the constitution or bill of rights from the beginning of their education. How many times have you heard someone say “second amendment rights” when the second amendment provides no rights, but rather protections of the rights delineated elsewhere as unalienable. That really grinds my gears.

    There’s no such thing as rights. They are a figment. A social construct. Especially with the current interpretation of the Establishment Clause and the separation of church and state, which apparently takes the stance that the government cannot acknowledge the existence of God in any way. If rights are endowed to us by our Creator, and yet there is no Creator, then officially speaking where do the rights come from?

    Interesting philosophical question.

    I didn't think separation of church and state was an actual clause, more of a quote basically taken from an opinion piece from a founding father at the time?

    Also, if the government cannot acknowledge the existence of God, why does it say "In God we trust" on all of our currency?

    They didn't want a bill of rights because they were afraid of what they were excluding and were afraid it would be used against people or that there were plenty of things that should be on it bit they hadn't thought of. It was meant as a good starting point to expound upon.

    I think I had one class in high school that was called government and civics. It was only a half semester (half year) in either junior or senior year. They tried to pack a lot into it but obviously there should be a lot more time devoted to teaching the history of our government, how it works, and how the people are responsible for holding it accountable. Would be nice if they also took some "hot topic" current issues, brainstormed some solutions, and then looked at how (if those solutions were put into law by legislators) those solutions would affect the different demographics of the entire country.

    Would give them an interesting perspective and make them think about how their vote affects the entire population.

    I agree. But, what I'm saying is that rights aren't necessarily granted by our religious beliefs. But, granted by the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and maybe added to as necessary.

    OK a better answer to your statement. In the Declaration of Independence, the famous preamble quote - We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

    The entire purpose of that quote is to impress upon everyone that man does not grant rights, God grants rights. However, even if someone were an atheist, a secular view of the same statement would be that anything written in the governing documents of this nation are not granted by the government but are rights we are born with, God or no God.
