I want to change out the grille on my 2022 TRD Off Road Premium for the TRD Pro Heritage Grille. Looking on Toyota part websites I don’t see any 2022 grilles listed. The latest year is always 2021. Calling a Toyota dealer, I was told that Toyota is now requiring a VIN number to make sure you have a pro before getting this grille?

Looking online I’ve seen various aftermarket versions but reviews claim the letters can be off and that the grille doesn’t fit well.

My main question is what OEM version of the TRD Pro Grille will work with my 2022 Off Road Premium? I’ve heard TSS sensors have moved with the 2022? Any help with this is much appreciated! It’s quite hard to get solid info.

    Thanks!!!

It moved down if you have the front camera (multi terrain management) if you don't have the front camera then it stays in tbe same location

Okay so I don’t need to worry about the TSS sensor moving down then as I do not have the front camera.

I guess I could have put the parts in question. I’m mainly curious if these will fit my 2022 TRD ORP before I buy them and take my truck apart to find out :)

the ORP already has the valance, just silver. the SR5s do not have valance from factory, which is why he had to make some modifications in the video. if you are going from an OR/ORP, it's just as simple as swapping the valances.

Almost all of the pro grills will fit any model. Some just require a little trimming. Don’t let that stop you. I did a ton of it when I was young. I feel like people aren’t willing to do a little extra work any more. I’m cheap :notsure::notsure::notsure:

FYI- the black pro lower valance can go of the front of a OR easily without removing the front bumper. 13 clips hold the silver one on.

Did you happen to see if there was anything connected to that blank plate below the TSS? Or is it something that could possibly be removed?

As an update. I was able to install the OEM Grille on the 2022 TRD Off-road. It fit perfectly.

I was also able to install the OEM Black Valance. The only note on this is when I removed the front I found that on the 2022 the fog lights have one connection on the driver’s side instead of what most videos show which is unplugging both fog lights.

I also installed Morimoto Headlights as well. Only issue is my brights aren’t working. Need to try unplugging battery for 4 hours.

    thanks for the info everyone!

Ha! Thanks! I’m quite happy with it. Just gotta find the time to add the black out emblems, rear valance and black chrome exhaust tip!

I also have and old man emu 3” lift with SCS 17x9 -38mm Ray 10s to get installed. Ive been hemming and hawing on if I should go to the 17x8.5 -10mm Ray 10s for less cutting.

    Thanks for the comment!

That's what also confused me when removing the bumper. I unplugged both the fog lights only to find out only the main harness needed to be unplugged. Also the TSS plug needs to be disconnected as well.

Looks good! Planning on blacking out the hood scoop as well?

Keep your stocks. Don't sell them. You may want to go back to the OEM.

Quick question fellas.... is there are part # for just the black front valance? I don't mind the grill on my ORP, but I really would like the valance to be black instead of silver.

Same thing with the rear valance.... is there a part # for that?

    thanks!

Hoping for a confirmation/clarification...... the front valance can be swapped very easily without removing the front bumper and grill, correct?

Also, I haven't been able to find anything on the rear valance install. Does anyone know if it can be swapped without removing the bumper in a similar manner?

    thx, really appreciate it!

The front bumper you can but most of the screws you loosen to access the backside has to come loose anyways (example, the bottom and sides). A few more bolts/clips behind the grill and the entire bumper comes off. Remember depending on which year you have, you will need to unplug a few harness to the folights/tss etc.. Best to just remove the entire bumper and remove those clips from the back vs pushing the bumper out to gain access underneath to those clips. Doing this, you risk popping, possibly breaking/stressing the grill/bumper.

As for the rear, you'll need to remove it. It's easier than the front as there are no wires to unplug if I can remember. There's a few video on youtube. Just watch them and you'll have an idea.

I haven’t thought about it but I did get hit with the sun glare recently. I’m sure now that you said it, it’s going to be stuck in my head :)

Blacking the scoop out is pretty simple. Just buy some vinyl and some knifeless tape, lay it down then voila.... also the hood bulge in the front . You could either just buy new and replace the hood bulge or wrap it in vinyl like how I did.

I wonder if a dealer would install an oem grill on mine. I like that look but my chrome accent running boards would probably not look good with grill. Hmm

It really isn’t too hard to install the grille. You don’t have to take the front off. This is a great video:

    https://youtu.be/yPhC12kxmlE

Ordered the two OEM parts and did it pretty quickly.

Oh when I called the dealer they said something about not adding pieces from other models but that may vary dealer to dealer.

Oh when you peel off the adhesive backing and tape it up make sure you go passed the little lips that it could get stuck on when you go to pull it off :)
