Couldn't find anything addressing this in search.

I was having issues with my trailer lights. Upon examination, it looked like my connection piece from the harness to the 7 & 4 pins was in bad shape, so I ordered an Amazon replacement. Come to find out, one of the connectors on the new one was reversed male to female (right connector, just wrong gender). So I swapped out (spliced in) the old one onto the new one. Still didn't work. The oval 3 pin connection works, but, after skinning the wires above the 4 pin connector, no power there. I found a bad 30A fuse, but after replacing that, still no power to the 4 pin.

Short of taking it in (I'm almost that desperate), I thought about finding a T type aftermarket adapter just to bypass the OEM trailer pack.

Anybody have ideas, a) why I have no power to half the oem trailer harness, or b) where to find a T plug in type that will work for my 4th gen 08?

    Thank so much!

When I bought my 22 4 runner I bought some trailer lights off Amazon. For the life of me, they would not work. Took it to Toyota and they plugged in an OEM light and it worked. Moral of the story, be careful what you buy on Amazon

True story, but in this instance, I checked power in the wires themselves before the connector. Nada. So it's not the adapter.

Have you installed a brake controller? If not maybe it is required to activate the rear 4/7 pin plugs?
