One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 35 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 35yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.

This is a younger man’s 4Runner. At 77 i feel like i went from a rowboat to the space shuttle in the 2025 LIMITED. I retired from a Toyota Store as GM in 2014 after 46 years and thought i knew product. Bought 2 new Toyotas retirement day, replaced a Sienna in 2019 replaced both ‘23. Saying this because i could still drive and operate the damn vehicles including a 4Runner.
Two days ago i reentered nursery school.

Yes i could drive it but understand nothing. The garage door opener was the easiest in history to set and it ended there.

Three days and i can drive it to the post office but can’t set crap. Yes a sales person set up my phone where i don’t need to carry car keys. Luckily someone set up Buffet on the XM. Yes I’m watching YouTube’s over and over. If this car can talk to you why can’t you tell it what you want set beside a radio station and fix itself.
    As to what you ask.
    I hate the steps.
Love the dash as someone got rid of the odometer and rpm gage. Just have digital mph.
Love the light in the middle of the Toyota sombrero on the front. That is cool.
Not real happy where drinks go on the console. Easier on the ‘23.
Have a Toyota safe ordered for console just not in yet. Highly recommend if you travel with a gun.
Think i can see better out if this than the ‘23.
It is so much easier to turn with the electric steering. Big improvement.
    Sits and rides much better.
Not a hybrid fan so didn’t get one. This 4 cylinder will blow the doors off my ‘23.
I’m sure when i figure how to operate this new 4Runner i will like it even more.
Even able to drive it and not operate it i feel i am way ahead of the game.

    Same story.
When my kid need a car most likely another 5th gen 4runner. (Few more options in my mind too.. Like GX460, LC200, LX570.)

Nice ride. Too bad the hatch door and the garage door frame aren't playing well together.

I have a lower carport and didn’t even think about the 4Runner (stock TRD ORP) fitting when I got it. It was noticeably taller than our older QX4 SUV… luckily it is fine even with the roof rack. The hatch opens fine for now, but I need to calculate how much space I can max it out with my planned lift. My solution is to use a bungee cord (attached to hatch pull and D ring) when I open it, but not sure I’ll remember unless I make it a habit and do it every time we load up the dog

I like that list. Although for some reason LC 200 / 570 leather seats dont hold up well. Every one I have looked used, the driver seat has tears after 80K miles; same with leather on steering wheel. More so with lighter seats.

Now that you have one of each can you take some dimensions of each for us? Rear legroom, interior width, rear cargo space, etc.

To your point, I'm sure toyota is measuring to give max measurements and not reality. Like nobody is actually going to drive with the seat all the way forward, etc

That’s why I was asking someone who owns both to take some measurements for us.

yeah the wife is seriously thinking of trading this ... 23 tundra platinum

    2023 Tundra Driver Side Profile.png

and taking my 2025 4R Platinum Heritage Blue allocation reserve request (ships out on 9-3-2025)

if she does, guess i will have to put in another allocation reserve request for a 26 4R Platinum in cutting edge (silver)

Toyota has been known to make mistakes in their spec sheet, and this is one of the areas where they really screw it up. IIRC they say the new Tacoma has MORE legroom than the old one, lol
