Well, yesterday I finally got my new rims and tires mounted:

Can't say enough good things about the Toyos and will be trying them out in the rain today... compliments of Mother Nature. As others promised would happen, the change in rim offsets did lead to some minor rubbing up front at near-full lock, but I may borrow a heat gun soon to be rid of that.

First thing I installed was a ballistic glass screen protector for my head unit, and also got a new glovebox organizer and center console organizer from OCD which I'll be installing today.

Not sure how I already have 500 miles in her (bought on 4/24 but only commute to the office 1x per week) but in another 500 I'll be headed back to OK4WD to have my 1000 mile synthetic oil change and have them disassemble and lube up my alignment assembly on the LCAs as recommended. I'm also looking to source one of these fangled Fumoto oil drain plugs and a decent but not too crazy aftermarket skid plate so I can start doing my own oil changes again.

A huge thank you to this gang here for answering all my noob questions and sharing your advice. I can see why you're all crazy for these vehicles.

    Thanks!

Looks good. I’m wanting to get the TRD rims and either Toyo or Cooper AT tires or Bridgestone Revo3.

Mine came with the Coopers when I bought it 2 years ago. They’re quiet and great in the rain and snow.

Put about 15k on the toyos. Absolutely no complaints from rain/snow/sand/highway. Good looking rig. Just need those front windows tinted ;)

Thanks 94hokie....I was actually looking at the RCI engine skid plates; they look great, but between the price (~$300) and the weight (~40lbs), I'm just wondering if there's maybe something a little less hardcore out there since I likely won't be doing too much off-roading where that will come in handy.

Mostly, I'm just trying to work ahead of the idea that either myself or 4x4 shop of my choice will probably end up stripping the bolts of the stock skid plate from unmounting/re-mounting it over and over again from doing oil changes.

    Thanks,
    TimG.

If you aren’t going to rock crawl, the aluminum skid still offers great protection and only weighs 20 lbs. So net just a few pounds more than the factory thin skid plate with the access panel as a bonus.

No kidding?? I don't know where the heck I got 40 lbs from...maybe the unpainted steel version. Either way, I appreciate the info very much.
