New to 4Runners

Hi everyone,
New to 4runners and am going to be looking to purchase in the future. Right now am driving an '06 Explorer and it's working very well but getting up there in mileage so thinking of trading/selling. Need to find out about towing capabilities. We have an 18' open bow/inboard Crownline that we take out occasionally and the Explorer has no problem towing with the V8 and better transmission than V6 Explorers. Weighs around 2800#'s, TW of around 300#'s. Will start researching forum for something that will do the same job with the boat without stressing components. If anyone has an idea of what year I should focus on that would be very helpful. Looking at anywhere between '06 and '12 to stay in my price range.
