I like all but the dark brown and teal. The lime and black cherry are my favorite of those.

I'm thinking the dude who picks the color palette needs an eye exam.

I think I'd get bored and annoyed with the lime green and teal way too quickly. The Brick is OK to me, as is the yellow. Brown and Dr. Pepper are blah. I really like the Radiant Red too, but I suspect it's too close to Barcelona to be considered. I like this color for a future Runner:

Or maybe something a little darker:

Matter of opinion here - but all of those colors are garbage. They have an ENTIRE spectrum of colors to work from, and that's what they come up with? I would LOVE to be in that meeting. I would likely get walked out shortly after though. I think the mustard color in the first picture @catus posted would be great!

The TuRD emblem gets mocked enough as it is. Can you see TRD emblazoned on the back of a dark brown 4Runner? People would pass you on the interstate giggling.:D

I think Toyota is just using the fancy colors from Prius and just give a catchy name for the TRD Pros to make more money.. :(

I've said it before, just look at the FJ Cruiser color palette and find one that they haven't used yet. That's where Calvary Blue, Quicksand, Cement, Voodoo, Army Green all came from.

Some of you make it sound like Toyota came up with these options and one of these will be selected.

The article states these choices were speculation from fans in various forums.......which means absolutely nothing.

@Huzer21 is spot that all other Pro colors have been based off the FJ color palette. Safe money is on that repeating itself for the 2022s.

While there is a large degree of truth in what you say, speculation starts somewhere. Don't think for a second that someone connected (directly or indirectly) to Toyota doesn't blend in as a regular joe in these forums and spark conversation. There are a number of branches within R&D, and something as small as discussing colors on a forum full of enthusiasts can yield a lot of useful information in their decision making - not always, but sometimes.

    Good point!

Many of Toyota's truck-responsible people may be enthusiasts themselves, so they're active on forums.
Also, there's always the chance someone is watching from their HR so they have to be careful - you'll notice Toyota leaks are fewer and farther between than someone like....Ford (Bronco leaks, Maverick leaks, etc etc etc)
I have to imagine they have a pretty strict policy against info sharing, but that doesn't mean they can't come here and look for good feedback/ideas.

Agree! GoogleJeff Teague Toyota and you will see this guy probably does have some influence. Do I expect the next color to come from here? Maybe not but it wouldn’t surprise me.

Agree that white is still the best color on this vehicle! Was my first choice but the wife has a Pearl unlimited! Still want a white Pro badly!

I too loved white and had many white Toyota's including my SR5. But after reading about white paint issues I started buying silver. I just like to have light colors to get little help on hot summer days to cool down. May not be a huge difference in temp but like to have that little extra help.

There’s a smokin hot blonde that I see on my morning commute in a teal Jeep. I gotta say the color really looks good. Or maybe it’s her that looks good in teal.

I respect your optimism..........and you might be right.

I tend to be a bit more pessimistic on this point.

Do I think Toyota scans Toyota forums for new ideas for their vehicles? No, not really. I think they're old fashioned and don't participate in the shitshow these places typically are.

I get the impression they mostly walk to the beat of their own drum. Enthusiast feedback doesn't seem to be high on the list of priorities for them........how often do you see people ask for V8s, diesels, and manual options in the 4Runner? That isn't to say I don't think they listen to their customers and take value in their opinions. I think most customers value Toyota reliability very highly and Toyota hears that loud and clear.

I'm guessing Toyota weighs customer surveys, emails, and communications to the dealers much more heavily than what's said on enthusiast forums. I could be wrong though.

There are definitely a few Toyota employees here, but guaranteed their level of power/influence varies.
Enthusiast feedback like putting a V8 in everything has to be considered against EPA regulations, development costs, and the amount of people who would purchase it - the enthusiast community's wants can't outweigh mass-market considerations.
You're right about feedback - if you ~definitely want to be heard, take the surveys you receive and talk to your dealer (who can communicate back to corporate).
That's not to say forums are powerless, though. If enough people make noise about anything, someone at Toyota will take notice... especially if it's a rumor about something which shouldn't have come out (see recent posts about the 2022 NX leak, Tundra leaks, etc. - typically at least the videos get wiped from the internet pretty quickly)
