    Hi guys,

    I am coming from a 3rd gen manual transmission Tacoma. Have had a 2nd gen Tacoma, a 2018 Tundra, 2021 RAV4, now a 2022 Tacoma. All in the last 11 years.

    Making the switch to a 4Runner because, well, this will be my last vehicle for a long time. I know these things are known to be the most reliable vehicle on the market. My intention is to run this vehicle into the ground and never give it up. Couldn't think of a better vehicle than the 4Runner. That and I just had a kid... fitting a back facing car seat is quite the pain in the ass in the Tacoma.

    Just placed my deposit on a ORP. Should be here in a month. I am getting less than Kelly Blue Book for trade in sadly for my Tacoma. Talked to a few dealers and its the same story seems the market is changing.

    Anyways, I am just happy to end my hunt for the ultimate vehicle. Thought I'd say hi. I did notice this 4Runner doesn't come with the Toyota Remote Connect... I am hoping my first mod to be remote start / remote monitoring on my phone.

    See you all soon hoping to mod the shit out of this thing and posting pictures.

    Welcome! There are lots of good options for adding an aftermarket remote start. My wife and I both have Gen5 4R's. She has a 22 Limited 4WD (which did come equipped with both the Remote Connect and remote start on the FOB) and I have a 21 Venture which didn't. I added the Accessorides remote start and love it. It's been on there for about a year now, no issues at all. You'll find lots of discussion here on the forum about aftermarket remote start add-ons.
