Hi everyone. My first ride back in the 90s was a 1985 4runner. Regretted selling it immediately. I've passively scoured the web over the last 5 years or so, but everything i found was way out of my range, or just too beat up for me. I'm far from a mechanic, so reliability was my main focus. Found one in northern mississippi, flew out and drove it back. Busted gas gauge and no headlights. Loved every second of the drive. Here it is after some work, including interior. 20181021_095644.jpg20181021_163813.jpg 20181021_163915.jpg

Thanks ya'll. I wasn't too sure about the seats either, but the original upholstery was pretty narly. The green plaid was on sale. It grows on you

yeah, totally re-painted. apparently it was stagnant in someone's front yard for a few years. only has 120k miles on it, but took quite a bit of work to get it where it is now. freakin cherry red is a bit bright, but color wasn't really a big deal to me

Looks Nice! … I purchased a brand new 1989 4R Deluxe back in the day; it was solid red including removable fiberglass top…I was twenty years old; paid $13,900 out the door … owned it for a little over 5 yrs and sold it for $10,000 cash w/ 104,000 miles on it … After seeing this post and 35 years later …still regretting letting it go! Absolutely a Great Vehicle and that 4 cyl 22 RE …well you couldn’t kill it… Thanks for sharing with us! … Enjoy!

Could we get some more photos? How about one of the back end with the tailgate open? I love these older runners.

Love the soft top! Don't know about that interior tho... reminds me of my neighbors AMC Gremlin. IMG_2119.jpg

the led's on your grill are sick! it's definitely got a gremlin vibe going on. pretty sure it's leftover old school vw interior. gotta admit, it's a slight improvement from this:560822069.jpg
