    Hello again,
Well the modifications continue! (If only toyota would have done it from factory and not waited until the 2021 model to do it!)
So i decided to go in the mission of upgrading all the lighting of my 2020 4runner limited nightshade from ugly, outdated, dim, ugly (did i say ugly? :p) incandescent lightbulbs, into modern, decent, 21st century LED.

so far i upgraded all the cabin interior lights (74 CAD upgrade kit from Amazon) and i loved the difference.

then came the fog lights which i discussed on my last thread, and although maybe not street legal, i love them.

today it was the turn of my DRL’s and low beam projector lights. I found the ones recommended by the website headlight revolution.
Im happy to report that this replacement was easy and straight forward. The truck now starts looking like a decent 21st century vehicle.
The lights went from lousy 750 Lumens to beautiful cool white 2500 lumens.

Next on the upgrade list (they are stuck somewhere in the mail world) are my side mirror flasher lights. They will go from chromy looking to smoked and sequential beautiful LED yellow light.

after that i will focus on the rear of the truck replacing the reverse and the turning lights i just want to find some lights where i dont have to install any additional heatsinks for the lights.

i will post the results as I go!
    Cheers from Canada!

I think Toyota does this on purpose to keep the mod companies in business.

Totally! Well now they decided to include it as “new feature” on the 2021 models

Only issue is it seems that your DRL’s are on full power, which is pretty bright even for the daytime.

The first OEM application of LED headlights was back in 2006. It’s ridiculous that anything over $30K still comes with halogens.

But matrix beams with laser high beams is where it’s at.

Oh you think so? Dang! I was hoping they would still be ok :(

    totally agree!

halogens and less should not even be offered anymore!

In the photo they look bright but you be the judge! They may not be as bad as they seem, they look good though!

so today i had the chance to be more time on the road and be more observant of DRL’s on other cars and mine now that i upgraded them. Although maybe in the pictures im sharing might seem too bright. I am happy (and relieved) that LED DRL’s in general are quite bright! Haha and gladly, mine were really nicely bright but not more than any other out there. So, happy again with my upgrade! :)

    cheers!
