I just got my new 2025 SR5 last week. I'm pretty impressed with everything. Except the tires, manufacturer tires are a bit small. Has anyone tried putting 285/70/17 on these?

Welcome to the forum from Wisconsin!

Post pictures of your new 4Runner!

I haven't seen much on fitting larger tires yet. But, it seems folks are fitting 35's on the new Tacoma with minimal trouble. Being so similar, I'd imagine 33's shouldn't be much trouble on the 4Runner.

    Nice!

Those wheel wells definitely look a little big for those tires. :D

Enjoy! Keep us posted on how you like it. There are a lot of curious people around here.

I live in a country area so, those tiny tires won't work. Ha

I ordered the 285/70/17, they should be here today or tomorrow and my tie guy is going to do his best to evaluate it and see if it will rub before putting them on.
I'll update with pictures if it's a go.

    Congratulations on your new truck.

Recommend you do your first oil change early instead of waiting full change interval.

Looks great. Be sure your experience. Would love to hear from the new owners.

Pay no mind to the naysayers. When a 4Runner is all-new, we hate it because it’s not worthy….and by the time the next generation approaches, we love it because it set a new benchmark. Early in that cycle, it’s kind of like a weird Toyota truck version of how certain species of spiders eat their own young. Congrats & enjoy!

I got my 285/70/17 tires. They checked with turning the wheels and no rubbing so we put the other 3 on . And I took off the air dam.
My girl looks pretty badass if you ask me, but I might be biased.

definitely looks better without the air dam and with bigger tires.
Still not a fan of the double 'stache though

That looks so much better with the new tires. We have to keep this thread going. Was it under $45k?

    Agreed!
It was $46K, I didn't think that was too bad and I can add stuff as I go.

    Update on mpg:

With these tires I get 18mpg the original mpg on the manufacturer tires was 20/26.

I live in a rural area which requires me to go up and down several mountains to go anywhere.

Overall, not that bad with the new tires, IMO.
