New 4Runner TRD PRO (2,200 Miles) Pulls to Right Will Not Hold Alignment?

    Sup Fellas.
    Socal Noob here. In April I leased a 2024 4Runner TRD PRO. At 500 Miles it was turned in to service at dealership - Vehicle pulls to the right at low and highway speeds. Vehicle is returned with 36 miles driven at dealership - Problem solved. At 3000 Miles it was turned in to service at dealership - Vehicle pulls to the right at low and highway speeds, Vehicle is not steady at highway speeds + Lower Garnishing on windshield is warped and needs to be replaced? Vehicle is returned, garnishing is replaced, but guess what, It's still pulling to the right... Current miles on vehicle are 3,100 miles. Yes this is a Lease. Yes this vehicle is in California. Purchase Price $67,000 - This. Hurts.

    Is this a Lemon? Any Suggestions? See picture included. This was the alignment @ 500 miles...

    I don't know anything about reading those alignment sheets but i would try another dealer or shop.

    Thanks. First repair was at North Hollywood Toyota, 2nd repair was at Glendale Toyota.

    My vehicle was pulling to the right. It was bad enough that it ate my front right tyre despite getting over 5 alignments. I recently got it rectified and was told my lower suspension was not torqued to spec when it was replaced. So the two front tires were not at the same level/angle?! to each other. This slight variation made the car pull right despite alignment being in spec. That could be true but I am also close to 200k miles .
    With a brand new car like yours, you can try a different shop that specializes in 4runner alignment but you are under warranty and you might also have a lemon.

    If it’s a TRD PRO why is the sheet says SR5/SR5P? I’m not an expert but the two suspensions aren’t the same as far as I know. Maybe they’re using the wrong setup in the system?

    BTW I had the same issue at 500 miles. Solution was simple. They had to flip the front tire on the rim. It’s in the Toyota service guide so they just have to look it up.

    Thanks for the response. I want to get a feeler for the issue so I thought I would come here for advice, however Im leaning towards Lemon too.

    It also says 2016-2023. I forgot to ask for the alignment spec sheet for the second repair. I should have it by tomorrow.

    You need to keep after this via a dealership. If it’s going to be declared a lemon, it needs a service history of repeated failed attempts to fix. Since it’s under warranty, taking it to a non-dealership shop would be unwise imo.

    Alignment readings look Ok. Not perfect but adequate. Swap the front tires left and right and road test again. Could be a tire pull. Between left and right readings on the front. A vehicle will pull towards the higher number camber and the lower number caster. Alignments are set for a slight left pull to compensate for road crown. Generally .25 degree positive camber on the left or .50 degree negative caster on the left. It's whatever works that keeps you within the spec range. Try the tire swap you might be surprised.

    Thanks for the reply. The tire swap was preformed on the first trip to the dealer. Tire swap was the first thing the shop Forman mentioned when tackling the problem.

    I always consider the crown on the road when when making this assessment. The pull is pretty bad.

    Didn’t have a chance to make it to the dealer for the second alignment print out. Will try again tomorrow…

    If left to right front tire swap didn't help I'd rotate them front to rear and repeat to conclusively rule out tires.

    apparently this was done on the first trip to the dealer. Tire were switched left to right, and front to back.

    This may have alleviated the problem for about 2,500 miles, but the issue continued.

    If rotating my tires every 2500 miles needs to be done in order to keep the car from pulling to the right, then tire rotation is just a symptom of a much bigger problem.

    Hate to ask this, is anyone familiar with the lemon process with Toyota? I understand California is the most consumer friendly for lemon law, however, I get the feeling Toyota is going to push back on my specific case.

    If the switching tires resolved the issue for 2,500 miles then it sounds like to me that you have conclusively proven that it is a tire issue. Out of curiosity are we talking about the factory Nitto Terra Grapplers tires that came factory on the pro?

    Say what you will. Torqueing of suspension components is unlikely to cause tire wear. Keep in mind for the OP's alignment readings that Caster settings have no bearing on tire wear. Generally it's only Camber and Toe settings that wear tires unless a vehicle has sustained damage that would affect components with built in angles like the spindles. Namely S.A.I. and Toe out on turns. If the front to rear thrust angle is out then you have some major issues.

    Well I guess you would know more than the master tech that worked on it for 2 hours. I am merely giving the explanation what was provided to me.
    What I know is, my alignment ate my tire. My toe never got into spec despite visiting multiple shops.
    Now it drives straight with no pull and even if all he did was put it on the lift and lowered it without touching a thing, I am okay as long as it drives how I want it to drive. Now if something changes eventually, I will take it up with him.

    No problem. Whatever floats your boat. I'm also a master tech retired. I did alignments for 30 years. But what do I know. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother responding to posts here. Tell me how torqueing of a bushing will change any physical movement up/down left/right reading on an alignment where the bushing is good. There is no change. All front end components should be torqued to spec at ride height.

    Pardon me but I am more inclined to believe someone who actually worked on my car and solved my issues.
    And if you are what you say you are/were, I had recently started a thread on this very topic, and enough members responded to find a solution. You could have pitched in then. But that's water under the bridge.
    Also, I did not replace my bushings, I replaced my entire front LCA, UCA, shocks, links, outer tie rods and sway bars bushings. Enough things could have gone wrong while replacing any of those parts.

    That's interesting. I'm guessing that these tires may have some belt shift issues from what you're saying. Unfortunely the only way to prove it now is to try a completely different set of tires.

    A work in progress.....
    If in fact tires are the problem and dealer can't warranty tires; you may have to find tire dealer to resolve. I would think dealer could point you a tire shop that would handle. Most dealers in this area also sell tires and could warranty tires.

    Your question was answered by providing you details of all the things that were replaced on my front suspension. Any of those parts could have been wrongly installed to cause an issue.we wouldn't know now.
    However, if you are implying that changing all those suspension parts have no bearing on the alignment, I am glad I am not getting my alignment done by you.
