Looking to get a newer 5th gen. I really would prefer leather interior, a sunroof, and push to start. Any suggestions on year and trim? Also, how many miles would you consider too many? I currently sport a 2006 v8 with 215k so I know they can last decades, just curious if the new models are capable of that same lifetime / where you all would consider it too many to purchase. Thanks!

    Oooh look, another mod.....

If you want all those things then look for a 2020 or higher model year. You also want one of the following trim levels: TRD OffRoad Premium (I think the leather/sunroof is mandatory), Limited, Limited Nightshade, TRD Sport, 40th Anniversary

TRD Off Road Premium has Softex (faux leather) seats and optional sunroof.

The Softex material is nice… practical, easy to clean, and wears well, but it’s not leather.

OP sounds like a good candidate for a Limited trim… tend to be better suited for more upscale daily driving. Maybe even consider a GX460?

You're right. But a lot of people don't care or don't know that SoftTex isnt real leather. Personally, I like it because it wears better than real leather. My 4Runner has almost 35k on the clock, and there isn't a single crease in the drivers seat!

There are a lot of new cars on the market right now that have an alternate form of genuine leather.

Push button start began in 2020; Limited is the only model with real leather. Any model could come with a sunroof if a premium.

Ignore @dadley. He doesn't drive a 4R and apparently has some trouble with the English language.

A used Limited with have all that stuff you want. More sound deadening, better entertainment system, hood insulator, etc. The AWD is awesome. Front and rear limited slip and Atrac. I don't like 3rd row. Kills the storage space and the seats don't fold down. Limiteds usually cheaper because of the Xreas system possibly leaking. Might use as a bargaining tool to. I bought a Limited by accident because it was built around the JBL sound system, but I'm glad. It's the last step or you go GX.
