Well I am down for anything. The Smokey mountains are a great place to go. Looking for some nice trails with some challenge (I prefer no deep water crossings or anything). But yeah most anything works for me. Just getting out on new trails is exciting. You know of any good trails?

I’ve got nothing lol. Was hoping you had something. Windrock suck. There’s Nemo but it’s about a 1 hour trail if that. I’ve been wanting to get back to pisgah and find some trails that way.

Well I have been on 2 trails since I have been in N.C. the nicer one with more challenges was further East. It is in Uwharrie National forest. That would be quite a drive for you. I have a neighbor I can talk to who has lived in N.C. his entire life and knows a lot of the trails. I will see if he has been out to anything in Pisgah. I will also start looking up on All Tails and such to see what I can find. I am down to drive to Virginia or somewhere else that has a medium challenging trail. Not looking to destroy my car but also would like to test all 3 lockers and 34” tires and see how things shape up.

I / me ( my wife who owns it) has a place in the NC mountains where I used to bear hunt. That is where I drive and test my Runner, as far as it will go, and then my 570 Polaris 4 Wheeler when the trail narrows.
Great place to 4 wheel. Choices of mild or wild are there to be enjoyed.

Do you have coordinates or links to the trails in All-Teails or some other platform?

Hey Grant. I would never divulge the wherabouts of this area, as it is private. It is, however ideal for mild off- roading.
Years ago, I was on a site called 4x4 wire. Who knows, might still exist.
When on there, I invited two cyber friends to come up and they had a great time. Gonna go up very soon, alone, for a maintainence trip. Don't know yet if this site allows , or has an avenue for PM's, but do so, if ya want.

Oh gotcha. Yeah I was thinking it was a public place. Surely understand you don’t know who you can trust online. I will continue looking around as I prefer places I can return to. Thank you.

Would be awesome. My dad will be in town. I will ask him and see if he wants to hit up some trails. Where about are you thinking of going? I am in the Charlotte area to give perspective of my location

There’s long run, double top, Potts mountain keep trail, big levels to blue ridge, that’s just from a quick all trails search

Bout 20mi. Takes a good amount of usable sunlight during the day to complete. But it is the best Ive run since living on this coast. Doing it alone is OK, but not advised haha

Moving around a lot for work has kept me from making a lot of good wheelin buddies. So more often than not I’m a lone wolf lol

I could probably be convinced to do either Chestnut Mountain or Hurricane Creek sometime in the fall.

Sorry all. I had a great trip with my dad. Drive over to Tennessee and didn’t get a chance to hit the trails. I am down to go on a trail ride if anyone is interested. Would be cool to get a few people.

Won’t be doing hurricane unless we can get a couple people to go clear it. Last I heard there was a huge tree laying across the trail that was going to need several hours and chainsaw to get it out of the way

Now that sounds like something deserving of an off-road trip. I would do an off-road trip to help clear a trail so others can use it. I can bring the chainsaw, pole saw, winch w/ chain, etc. I am down if anyone else is down.

Oct. 9 is probably my earliest available weekend. I'll check with the Mrs. if that is a good date for me to get away.

Hey guys - anyone know of a relatively simple place to "exercise" my 4WD between Charlotte, Hickory & High Point/Greensboro? I'm making a quick road trip soon and thought there might be some place better than a gravel road to get it in L4.

Uwharrie. They have trails from easy to challenging as you want to go. I would be happy to go with you if you wanted to go with someone else. I just uploaded this video for your viewing pleasure. This wasn’t the hardest stuff we encountered. I had my front, center, and rear lockers on in 1 spot and had to give it a second attempt. But honestly a jeep with 31’s made it with a bit of work.

    Edit:
I am not far from Hickory if you are down to hit some other trails as well.
