    Alright you guys, after being too busy with life, finally got around to it! Pretty much the whole thing was just using the plastic trim tools and 10mm socket and occasional extension, super easy! took me a little over half an hour and the truck is in tip-top shape.

    Did all of @madmax20 's steps and it was a breeze. Thank you so much my man!

    One thing to all, once you re-connect the battery, the truck will shut off after turning it back on. I got worried and searched it, apparently it's normal when re-connecting the battery. Other than that, the auto-windows, rear, window, sun roof... all the electronics work perfectly well. Of course, the DCM thingy at the top right corner of the screen is GONE! F**k you Toyota corporate for collecting data and selling it. Up yours!

    I'm almost at 30k mileage now, so gotta change my engine oil, do the transfer case and front and back differential fluids, rotate tires, and also fluid film for the winter. My baby will be in tip top shape.

    EDIT: sorry, I gave credit to the wrong guy!

    Credit where it’s due: it was @madmax20 who first took the plunge and wrote the illustrated step-by-step. Follow this LINK to see it.

    @engineer90 Congratulations!

    I have disconnected my battery several times this summer when doing a lot of electrical mods and I've noticed the truck does that as well, but not all the time for me. I've wrote off as normal and your post proves that more.

    UPDATE!

    So my truck is at 29k miles and today I just got a call from the dealer that it may be due for the complimentary service.

    Just like @madmax20 seems like their SkyNet system is going beserk that they couldn't collect data from my 4Runner so they left me a voicemail. That is great! I am glad I took that shit out!

    Same! At first, I was a little nervous messing with it as it a brand new vehicle, but glad I did. I think newer vehicles in the future may be trickier as they may do sketchy things like throw a Check Engine Light, etc... This was a simple bypass.

    How did it go when you took it for service? Did they say anything about the telematics?

    I already changed my oil since I'm just shy of 30k miles and I change it every 5K miles, but I'll take a free tire rotation and other fluids if they'll do it.

    I change the oil myself (since new) and rotate the tires myself. My plan is to do all service on the vehicle unless there is a warranty issue or I am in over my head. Luckily, I have not had a reason to take it to the dealership.

    I'm hanging onto the DCM, in case I feel the need to put it back in place for a dealership trip, but I will put in a blown fuse for the DCM before I hook everything up.

    Same I do all maintenance myself, but I'm too lazy for a tire rotation haha. I'm also using 5w-30 since I do drive a lot on highway.
