Hey everyone! So I am likely going to purchase this 4runner since my dealer gave a great trade value and is selling at MSRP. But I just can’t understand these numbers. The options don’t add up to what MSRP is showing. How does the -$CE9E3873-F01E-4F12-B6A2-A6E152E9D3AE.jpg 750 keep it wild savings work? I guess im confused and don’t trust dealers. My salesman pretty much said that is the price I will pay. Take it or leave it. Lol Any ideas?

The original interested buyer probably bailed out. I would follow suit.

The $750 Keep it Wild rebate is the current savings on most vehicles that they deem not super in demand or hard to get. For instance, I just purchased a TRD Pro yesterday. That incentive/rebate wasn't a thing because it was a pro. For you, it would be because it's not deemed what they see as "high value". I think the logic makes no sense but that was how it was explained to me.

FWIW, that is a good deal. There are a few nonsense add-ons in there IMO. The connectivity kit is a scam (horrible value),as is the LED light upgrade. Reality is, most dealers selling at MSRP are doing small stuff like this. No vehicles are coming bone stock without some sort of random add-ons. Some of it may be able to be negotiated out but it's not the end of the world if it can't be IMO.

Just my take but I'd absolutely swoop it up. Lunar Rock is super in demand, especially on that trim level. The math does not make sense though. Regardless of how you try to go about it, it's a few hundred off lol.

Something fishing going on. I would request a copy of the actual window sticker which should have a full break down of all the added accessories and costs. I'm guessing they are doing some, if not all, of the accessories as dealer installed options which may be why things don't add up. Here's the window sticker for the one I am waiting on.

Lucky! I wanted the multi terrain monitor but I couldn’t find one with it. I requested the actual window sticker so maybe that will clear things up a bit for me. Thanks.

You shouldn’t have to pay a dime for the two year Toyota care which includes two oil changes. Almost 50k for an Off-Road premium?

    Yikes!

Predators are predators. $200 difference between the first vehicle and the window sticker above.
Tell them to pound sand on the LED's, Quick charge, Prepaying for rotations and oil changes. That should be at least $1k less just on those things.

What is the "touch keypad entry system"? Don't all the 22s have a key that just needs to be in your pocket, and when you touch a handle, it unlocks? Not sure what the purpose of a keypad would be unless you just forgot to your keys and needed to grab something quick.

Also, why would you need to pay up front for the oil changes everyone else gets for free?

I wouldn’t, too many added on bullshit stuff. In my state you pay excise tax every year based on the MSRP of the vehicle. That means I would be paying tax each year on $3200 of excess over priced stuff. My runner came with overpriced mats and the dam 600 dollar hole in the roof, which my wife wanted.

And folks are right, they don’t appear to know how to math, and I am betting they are hoping you don’t either. It looks like they are overcharging by about 500 bucks.

I would keep them thinking your interested, but shop around and I would only buy this current deal if it was a MUST HAVE. Prices are going to fluctuate down soon, if not already headed that way.

Toyotaguard plus is a dealer service. They apply a crappy (probably simonize) ceramic coating inside and out. I doubt they have a good body man that knows how to prep the vehicle either.

Also, if I were you, I would go to toyota's website, and build that identical vehicle, and see how the options price out. It seems like they are charging more than list for everything. Or, when in doubt, look at the factory window sticker.

Salesman is saying they don’t have the window sticker until it gets on their lot. I’m looking at other other dealers now. If anyone knows of other Lunar Rock TRDORP in the southeast let me know!

I get emails from this dealership monthly announcing current inventory and the prices actually are looking reasonable.

Ya, tell the original dealer you've decided to pass for now and let them know that it's not a matter of 'life or death' that you get a 4Runner. Give it a little time, they will be calling you. Can't stand 'hardball' salespeople/dealerships, there's always other fish in the sea to buy from. The MSRP thing is good, instead of them trying to add some kind of dealership fees though.

I call BS bigtime on that. Dealers out here post the window sticker on their website before arrival. This is not rocket science. I would walk

The bad economy and interest rate hikes are catching up. A quick example on $45k vehicle at 4.5 percent. Another .75 interest hike coming this week too they say. If you are a cash buyer great bud I am guessing many are not. So dealers have to come to reality here sooner or later to turn vehicles

I think the Keep it Wild rebate is to help buyers not be so mad that they basically force you to have a Moon Roof unless you have 10 to 16 months to wait for a 4Runner that doesn't have one.

I got so much for my trade-in in March of this year, I let them goose me $1,200 in actual addon items gouging. The rest was just somewhat overpriced stuff. If legit, I've since lately seen dealerships with one each regular priced non-premium SR5's. One was I think Preston Toyota and the other was a Toyota dealership in OK. That said, unless you're getting the deal I got on my trade-in, I think you're getting hosed here. I want to add here I am very happy with my 4R. It's simply a pleasure to own and drive. I use mine just to drive around, no offroad stuff and it is perfect. Well, except for the atrocious MPG.

Well I backed out. Hoping they refund my deposit since nothing was signed. Found one a state over didn’t pull any tricks or games. Actually let me take off the useless add-ons. I do believe the market is changing.

I saw one dealer when getting the Pro and they charged $1999 for steps. I laughed out loud and started coughing from how batshit I thought they were.

Every vehicle I have bought has come wit ha full tank, except for the Rav4 Prime, they didn't even give it a full charge, and I needed to put gas in before we made it 100 miles.
