I have a new 2024 sr5 4runner. Has anybody figured out where to move the female end of the trailer hookup. It is very far under the rear for a 79 year old to easily access.. I purchased a 3 foot extension to assist moving.
    Has anybody relocated it?
    thanks

    Oooh look, another mod.....

They make extension cables. I hate having to duck under the rear bumper to plug in the cable too!

Personally I think it’s a great location having ripped off the connector on my Tacoma because it hung straight down from the bumper support.

OP, I made my own extension because all the towable things that I drag around have only the 6-round plugs. I don't have a travel trailer that might require a 7th connection to charge a battery or power a 12 volt acc. And I've done it enough times to plug it in by feel. But the real challenge was to find a place behind the bumper cover to relocate the factory female connector. No location is feasible because of the rear frame cross member/receiver hitch and spare tire location make it difficult to relocate.

^ And whip, when I had my '14 Tacoma, I relocated the plug to the left side license plate light hole. It was still the stock factory bumper though.
