I’ve been thinking of upgrading my stock led headlights with a pair of morimoto Xb evo headlights. The only two draw backs is the price and how long do they actually last before bulbs burn out and I have to replace the entire housing. I’m not to keen on spending $1600 for headlights to have them burn out in a few years and have purchase new ones, when you can just replace bulbs with OEM. Has anyone had them and have them burn out and how long did they actually last

No experience with Morimoto myself. But there are many more ways for these headlights to malfunction: the low beams can flicker, the turn signal LED strip can light up in the wrong color, the sidemarker can short out and blow a fuse, etc. I suggest you call up Morimoto customer support and ask them how they handle repairs, e.g. Do they cross-ship replacements while putting a core deposit on your credit card? Are they capable of doing repairs at all (since these are manufactured offshore)?

At the end of the day it may be a "pay to play" kind of deal. Want fancy headlights, be prepared to spend $2k every few years.

The OEM LEDs are the same way when they go out as in the entire housing has to be replaced. I'm a year in without issues so far.

You cannot replace bulbs on you OEM LED housing right? They are same as aftermarket. When LED chips start burning you need to buy entire housing. If you are not dyi you can to pay for labor removing bumper, transferring plastic pieces, and the headlight housing install.

My set is 11 months old now. The passenger headlight stop working after 3 months. It was a bad module, which was covered by warranty. It took about two weeks to get a replacement module. As of now, so far so good.
