Picked up our 2022 4Runner on Tuesday with 25 miles on it. Yesterday we turned our 1st thousand miles on the odometer. 4712E341-38DF-4F86-A4D7-B45ECBAA0D00.jpg

Either he has to drive a lot, or just likes driving it

I know I started wanting to preserve my 4runner so I tried to share the driving load with a beater. Then I said screw it, I bought to use, and I like using it… a lot.

Since then I quickly made a used car out of a new one. Just about to flip to 30,000 miles after 1 year and 3 months since purchased. No regerts.

I'm averaging 2K miles per month, and I don't drive it to work.

Im hoping to up my pace once the trails open. Even if I cant make all the fancy WI trail riding shindigs that are planned so far. :angrygirl:

Everything is kind of up in the air for me right now. Honestly, I really enjoy the group trail runs. But, I hope to do a couple of solo trips myself this year.

A lot of camping and exploring Northern Wisconsin. It's definitely fun for me!

Well, I did one solo run last year and it was pretty nice to just be. I do love the silence up there.

But, if you ever need a buddy to do a solo run, hit me up lol:laugh: And Im fine with instituting a no-talking rule. ( Also if anybody gets stuck, the other could even just sit back and watch chewing on a blade of grass.:computercoffee: )

The only thing about buddy-assisted solo runs…you cant mess around with trying to coordinate stuff. I think that’s what I’ll try this summer. If I decide to go up on a whim, I’ll throw it on the boards a bit before I go to see if anybody wants me to wait to meet up with them.

I mentally understand the need for planning, but geez that sure gets in the way of doing whatever I want, whenever I want to:anonymous::D

Yes! Agreed with all of this! I would definitely enjoy a weekend of putzing around the woods with you!

I was just reminded of that Sunday when you, Tim and I went exploring, and wound up on that campsite along the main trail, just bs-ing and enjoying the surroundings. That was a good day!

We don’t smoke, so, no cigarette ash in the car.. We put our English Pointers in training for a month while we were in Europe for our Viking Cruise. We had to drive 7 hours each way to pick them up, so, that’s the reason for the 1000 miles on the odometer. In September, we will make a trip from New Mexico to Pennsylvania pulling a 5x8 enclosed trailer with the 4Runner. Stay in Pa for a month and 1/2 and then return home. We will take all our animals with us.

We will put a lot of miles on the new 4Runner in the next couple of months. My wife has to go to California in June to take care of her dad who is 94 years old. Then return to New Mexico for a couple of weeks only to return to California the end of July for a celebration of life for her mom who passed away a month ago. Then the trip to Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania is a beautiful state, what area? I always think about moving there, it’s one state away.

AE6456C1-A1A4-44A1-ACB8-C0C6C9804619.jpg Our place in Pennsylvania is outside Williamsport, Pa. Its a 2 bedroom cottage right on a fishing/kayaking creek about 9 miles from the Little League World Series Complex. We use it once a year and the rest of the year it’s an AirBnB. It rents out every day.

ESCT4R, yeah, we put a lot of miles on our cars. We had a 2002 Honda CRV that we put 296,000 miles on it, bought a new 2013 CRV and it has 301,000 miles in it. We still use the 2013, but, we thought we better buy the 4Runner for higher ground clearance and in case the CRV quits on us. We are on dirt roads everyday flying my birds. No rock climbing, just dirt roads.

I've had my '22 TRDPro for 5 months.. .just flipped 14K miles. I live in the country, commute, and use it for work trips, as well. And I haven't even gotten to my busy season yet. The truck I traded in on this was a 2016 F150... in 5.5 years of ownership, I put 218K on that one.

Wish I could drive around that much without the damn shimmy’s...all I drive is highway and my drives are ruined most of the time.

Actually put 400 on today for a first ‘road trip’ from Ohio to New York, not bad mpg for using ac and going 80 mph the whole way back. 200 miles each way.
