@Adventure Motors I believe this is one of yours. I took the pic last year in north-central Ohio, one of the people in it was even wearing your shop tee. Pre-facelift model, but facelifted, with some nice add ons. Belongs to forum member @Getuponit ....who come to think of it I haven't seen on here for a minute...

Unfortunately, Jim passed last May. He and his wife had planned on joining us on a trip last June, and we found out a few weeks before the trip.

Jim and his wife had joined us on a camping trip/T.W.A.T run previously. Genuinely nice people. I'm glad we were able to have them along on at least one trip.

    Fuck cancer!

Oh shit! Well I really know how to fuck up a thread.

Yeah he was a nice guy. He and his wife came out and we did a ride together probably just before he died then circa April 2024.

He knew what was up and grabbed life by the balls and got out there to enjoy. Jim picked up a nice ride…that 4runner was hot! IMG_6497.jpg He truly seemed to be enjoying the time he spent traveling around with his wife and the 4runner. We were lucky to meet him along the way, super nice guy!

So how’s this for an attempted thread recovery?…Even though some find it fun to build out and work on their own rigs, sometimes the time and circumstances wont allow that. That’s where shops like this are nice to have close by. Sometimes they don’t even know how important their work will be to someone. It’s a tough business, which usually means that they’re made up of people who really like what they do, and want to make things that will be enjoyed by others.

Been meaning to go on a trip to see the state forests in Missouri. Wouldn’t mind stopping Adventure Motors to check them out when I
    do!

Funny substory, Kathy drove 99% of the route I led them on. One section was a little gnarly and unbeknownst to me she did not want to drive it; so they traded places out of my sight, and he drove. I'm not sure how bad his legs were when you guys met him, but on this trip he was riding shotgun because he could not bend them very well and he did not have good movement of his feet; the kind of movement you need to delicately manipulate a gas pedal. So anyway, I get set up to take some pics of what I think will be Kathy gingerly picking her way through tight trees and a muddy drop off when suddenly I hear this engine just revving like crazy and here comes Jim balls to the wall flying through a really technical section at ludicrous speed. He couldn't get his foot to work right and he only had two positions he could put the gas pedal in: full up or full down. He was in full down mode. I was scrambling to get out of his way because he was outta control. I was sure he was going to careen into a tree but somehow he threaded the needle and made it through. I managed to snap one pic as he flew by me - and his and her facial expressions in that pic just crack me up.

I think after that he gave her the wheel back. We went through some other stuff that I'm sure challenged her... some more funny facial expressions...
